Windows media player encountering error and winavi

Every thing was working fine until today. Every time I try opening a video file windows media player opens but I get a "windows media player has encountered and error... send error report". And when I'm opening WinAVI MP4 Converter it opens just fine but as soon as it starts to convert a file it encounters an error aswell just like WMP does. This is annoying me, how do I fix this? I've tried re-installing WinAVI MP4 Converter but it didn't work.

How ya doing, buddy?

Ok this is the error I get in wmp (see attachment).

Also with that winavi it seems to work when I'm converting a different file typer other than .avi files. Same with WMP every time I open a .avi file it get the error. So I'm guessing it is a codec issuea, but the same video's I wanna play now worked a few days ago. I have that kazaa codec pack aswell. This all started when I installed some iPod video converting softwares, but I uninstalled them all and it still didn't help.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I do have the right codecs and all, I was watching the same movie's a day before this problem and it played fine. It's just that now every avi file I open wmp crashes.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ok this is annoying me, I tried what you told me ORLY, scanned my computer, nothing. Re-installed WMP 10, didn't work, upgraded to WMP 11 beta, didn't work, re-installed divx and that didn't help either.

I might as well reformat or something.
