[PS3] PlayStation 3 Discussion Thread

Uhh there was some hack or some sort released where window XP can be run on the PS3 but I was reading how horrible it is. I'm not sure if they meant horrible as being compared to windows being installed on a PC or horrible compared to Yellow Dog being installed on it. I'm not sure how you install windows xp on it but it's possible I think theres an article on joystiq.com about it.

I want to know the same, is it worth installing it? If I do, will I be able to install divx or some thing?

God, why are they releasing all these God awfull ps1 games on the network? Release some good games where I'll find worth buying.

I just saw some videos of Armored Core 4 or w/e the new one is, well it looks good. I know it's comming for the 360 aswell, but I might get this one for the PS3 since I dont have any PS3 games. This is the first time I've checked the game, I've never played any of the other Armored Core games or even bothered to see how it is or what it even is, but yea they seem nice.

Yea I just saw the preview video, the game is looking good. I'm not into the whole mecha thing tho, but I'm really interested in this game.

Oh does any know if FEAR for the PS3 has some exlusive feature that the 360 doesnt? I saw a video it said some thing about some exclusive thing but it didnt talk much about it.

Seriously this new Home feature is looking good. I hope they had to come out with it sooner. I like how they say you can share music from your ps3 in your home or room w/e it's called with other people.

I just saw the press video of Little Big Planet and I'm impressed. I'm not a fan of those party type of games where you and others play but this one looks different, it looks like a fun game.

I finally decided to play FFVII and FFVIII on my PS3. Well I start the games and I notice it right away that the 1.5 firmware update didn't fix the issues with PS1 games. Cause they still look horrible, all the update did was fix the PS2 games which still some people are complaining about. I have a standard TV from 1999 so I'm not playing it on an HDTV. I seriously hope Sony fixes this damn problem.

Even the people complaining on the PS forum are saying that their playing it on standard television sets and they see some of their PS2 games not looking like they should.

I e-mailed Sony's PlayStation customer service about it, I hope more people phone them or e-mail them so Sony fucking fixes the problem 100%. Some people dont care but I got a lot of PS2 and PS1 games that I always play.

While the BC on the PS3 is nice and all, after my run in with the 360 and it's BC support I realized that I would not be able to trust BC suport for future systems without evidence of functionality. I still use the PS3 for my PS2 games, but I'm glad I played things safe and kept my PS2 around for PS1 games and Guitar Hero. Yea I might have to buy another PS2, my previous one broke so thats why I couldn't keep my last one. I just hope when I get a PS2 it wont die out on me, but I rather have Sony fix the backwards compatibility on the PS3.
