I'd have to go with Ionic, because it simply sounds more powerful. Kind of like in Command and Conquer and the GDI had Ion Cannons or whatever. I think that was Command and Conquer. Maybe not. But a "White Cannon" sounds like something a confederate would use, and I don't trust it.
