That clears things up. A part of me wasn't believing all the things that had been said about Ana-Lucia.

And yeah, I didn't even hear or look at the Hanso commercial. It must have really blended it, because I'd imagine hearing "Hanso" would make my heard turn.

I doubt that's what it is. Lines are probably clogged with thousands of callers, that's all. My sister experienced similar when trying to vote for American Idol.

Well according to that link previously posted, them getting shot and having a DUI was just a coincidence.

Double Post:
Also, can we please not reveal anything about the webgame or at least put it in spoiler tags? I for one feel that we should not have to use spoiler tags when referring to past episodes as it would be illogical for someone who hasn't seen the show to browse to the last page of the thread, however...

The game is supposed to be a journey for the viewers, and not all of us are going to make the same steps. I, for one, don't want to get any clues off of the internet and do things for myself, so having parts of the game spoiled (like passwords) for me kind of pisses me off.

Or maybe we could make a separate thread about it just to avoid this?

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Hay guys, reiterated: both Libby and Ana Lucia were planned to be shot; their DUI is a coincidence.

Supposedly before the season ends:
Spoiler:
A lot more people are going to die in pretty violent ways. I'm wondering if characters are being killed off on purpose because next season will introduce a lot more characters. (Others are recurring characters?)

Although they didn't hype it as such, I'm really looking forward to next week's episode which is supposed to answer a lot of questions, including what the ? on the map is, and what the hatch's purpose is for. Based on the leaked callsheet from the season finale:
Spoiler:
The entire hatch/bunker gets destroyed.

Which is somewhat of a mirror of the first season finale.

Also, based on that same callsheet
Spoiler:
Eko doesn't die next week. But I don't know how he'll survive that supposed plunge.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Actually, I could be wrong:

Spoiler:
The call sheet says (rather vaguely) that the door from the hatch lands on the beach where other losties are. This is after a scene where Eko/Locke get more dynamite from the Black Rock. So in different contexts it could be any given hatch.

But my assumption is that it's the hatch we're familiar with. For one, I'm kind of tired of it; I bet other people are too. It's time for a change of scenery. And I think the whole button-pushing plot is going to be resolved; I don't think they'll be pushing the button for another three seasons. My guess is that Locke will find out that the purpose of the hatch is bad (as Walt said a long, long time ago) and he'll blow it to high hell with plenty of dynamite.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Sup guys, pre-emptive spoilers for tonight:

Spoiler:
1. AL is dead
2. Libby is not (for now, and Michael appears to be a weee bit concerned about this)
3. Eko has a dream to follow his brother and go back to the plane...but he must bring along John..to help him find the ?...and to help John for he is in trouble.
4. John and Eko leave to "find "Henry"". Instead they do in fact find the ? which is the 5th station...the Pearl Station...it's below the plane
5. They find an orientation tape at the station which tells them Pearl is an observation station of all the other stations. John sees this and doubts the entire purpose of the island, the pushing of the button and his entire existence.
6. More on Eko's backstory is told...not giving any more here gotta leave some things for people to watch
7. Jack are about to give Libby some heroin (from Sawyer's stash) to ease the pain...but she dies before they can and utters one last word...Michael

If by "plane" they mean "nose of the plane" then perhaps it's fairly obvious why the monster killed the pilot. That's really the only part of the plane left, so unless it's somehow some new plane...

So I wonder if the monster will show up tonight? Or perhaps if it doesn't, it would be indicative of it somehow not being quite like it was after the dynamite incident at the end of season one.

Overlooked Eko's brother's plane I'm dumb.

Double Post:
Also, did anyone know that Locke's dad actually is the real Sawyer? This isn't an upcoming revelation but rather something we were supposed to put together. I for one suspected it but wasn't entirely sure. Apparently they removed a line from that past episode where Locke's dad just out and out says he is known by some as "Sawyer".

I'm not so quick to believe the button pressing is 100% psychological experiment. LOST itself is a psychological experiment on its audience.

In fact, think of it this way. The Pearl itself had a camera. Someone is watching the Pearl. Maybe the Pearl is the psychological experiment, and the button pressing is for real?

The fact that the Pearl's orientation video was on tape instead of film means something. You know what happens when you run a magnet along tape?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

^ another reason why I'm reluctant to believe the hatch is useless.

I think whoever was in the Pearl station was being watched and observed. Their observations being sent up the tube was a secondary form of observation. Not only now do their observers see their actions/reactions but they also gain insight as to their thoughts.

The people in the Pearl station eventually figured this out (exposing the camera) and were like, fuck this, let's bounce.

That's my theory, anyway.

I thought I was the only one who felt that way. Yeah, it's been so absent this season, we've only seen it once, and it wasn't even hardcore then (in fact it got kind of lamer, actually seeing it; I'm still hoping it has some kind of alternate form or something). I keep hoping their saving it for the season finale (which is supposed to be bloody) and actually whoops ass or at least chases some dudes.

Well Rousseau said it was a security system, but she's been on the island for a while; I estimate since the late 80s or early 90s. According to the blastdoormap Cerberus aka the monster malfunctioned at some point. According to other writings on the map, various places were abandoned or avoided because of its presence. (How Locke/Eko got back over to that plane without it catching them, I don't know.)

I don't know if it's working for anyone or doing its own thing. I wonder if it's going to be the cliche it-became-self-aware plotline. Because it went after Locke, so either it was bringing him to the Others or somewhere entirely different.

It was still way cooler as a straight cold killer than it is as a brain scanning, I'll-kill-you-if-I-feel-like-it thing.

I've always felt there should be a "light monster" for this "dark monster" but, even still, for now I've abandoned the idea of two monsters, especially since the blast door map pretty much chronicles the existence of Cerberus and nothing else that could be interpreted as the monster.

This is taken from another site. Season 3 will have no repeats. Seems like everyone's pissed at them and so:

-- Season 3 of LOST will have no repeats;

-- Will commence in fall for seven episodes;

-- While Lost is on hiatus it will be replaced by new drama "The Nine" (with the theme of ordinary strangers linked by extraordinary circumstances). "The Nine" focuses on a group of New Yorkers taken hostage in a bank robbery gone awry.)

-- Consecutive episodes of Lost will then run until May;

-- ABC will air J.J. Abrams new high concept drama "Six Degrees" at 10PM ET on thursdays (following "Grey's Anatomy" which is being switched from Sundays). "Six Degrees" centers on six very different New York City strangers enmeshed in a web of mysterious coincidence in an intriguing tale of inte

So, somebody's listening! I wonder if they will also realize how Season 2 was rather mediocre and write a bitching Season 3.

How ya doing, buddy?

Whatever you say. I got my info from thefuselage.com

Also, pre-emptive spoilers for tonight:
Spoiler:
Well, here it is! Please help by posting any followup posts from insiderscoop today!

ETA he entered it in 3 parts, am adding all 3 parts here

Part 1

We start 13 Days ago when Mike asked Locke for the rifle before setting off to find Walt. After he knocks Locke out he goes to the computer and after a few moments is typing and receiving a message from (?Walt?) He says to travel north along the beach he will come across a big rock with a hole in it. Then he hears Jack and proceeds to lock him in the armory.

Present day

Jack Mike Sawyer and Kate talking about a plan of attack Hurley upset because his friends are not even buried yet. They will have a funeral for Anna and Libby.
Jack wants to bring an army.
Mike insists just the five of them should go us or they’ll hear us coming.
Charlie talks to Claire and gives her the meds and the injection gun he found from the latest delivery of supplies. She is happy he did this for her and Arron.
Eko’s moving into hatch to punch in the numbers.
She says OH MY GOD it’s Micheal. He’s back.

Sawyer gives Sayid a gun and invites him to the battle
Charlie will continue to build church on his own.
Vincent delivers a Heroin statue to Charlie. Vincent leads Charlie back to the Heroin stash. He takes all the statues.

Part 2

The day Mike set out to find Walt he gets captured by Zeke a short while later they catch Kate. When Alex is asked to bring Kate out during the Standoff (Zeke and Jack) Alex asks someone else to bring her out. Alex then asks Mike how Claire and the Baby are doing and was it a boy or a girl?

They Take Mike to the place with the rock with the hole on the cliff which is where the tents are in the promotional pics. It looks like only one set of others are on the island.

Mike is introduced to Mrs. Clue who asks him questions about Walts Early childhood. When age did he start talking? Etc. Mike doesn’t know but this apparently goes on for a week. Until they realize Gale has been captured and they want him back.

He is later given 3 minutes to speak to Walt. They make me take tests he said. Get me out of here dad. They're not who they say they are. Mrs. Clue says that’s enough or we’ll put you back in the room. Walt doesn't like the room whatever it is.

Part 3

They will let Mike and Walt go free if Mike can free Henry and deliver Kate Jack Sawyer and Hurley as well but no one else.
Sawyer and Jack talk about Anna and Sawyer says he screwed her. Jack asks why are you telling me. Sawyer says cause you’re the closest thing I’ve ever had to a friend.

Later when Mike tells Sayid he can’t come with them Sayid puts 2 AND 2 together and tells Jack I think Mike has been compromised. They will let Mike think he is in control of the plan.

Charlie throws all the statues into the ocean they are all intact. Locke is sitting on the beach looking out and sees what he did they exchange a short glance. Carlie goes off to the funeral.

Locke cuts the splint on his leg puts on a backpack and heads out to the jungle without attending the funeral or telling anyone where he’s going. (Possibly to find Henry?)

Claire holds hands with Charlie at the funeral while Hurley is talking about Libby.

Sun looks out to the water and sees ______

Then they all see it

A small sailboat. (My guess is it’s Desmonds since we know he’s in the finale) This is where it ends.

Not even that shocking. I'm super disappointed.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Miss Clue is an odd character. It's almost like she's higher up than Zeke, but I can't say that for sure.

Yeah, for a second-to-last episode this was meh. Especially since the cliffhanger doesn't really set that much up in the way of end-of-the-season excitement. A boat came. Okay. If I were on the island I'd be like oh, a boat. Especially considering pretty much everyone has resolved that they don't want to leave (despite a monster and people getting killed all the damn time), it's reall inconsequential. I'm relatively sure Desmond is on that boat, since he's in pretty much all of the teaser photos for next week's episode.

Yeah I was severely disappointed with what everyone was gaping at in the teaser from last week. They all had a, "holy shit what the fuck this is impossible oh god" look on their face and - to me - a single boat kind of warrants a "hey, what the hell" kind of look, but not intense surprise.

I'm a little confused this season regarding what were reliable spoilers turning out to be true. One of them is Ana-Lucia finding an underwater hatch by following that cable on the beach. Another one is that character Alex - the young female other whom we've met today and in "Maternity Leave" becoming a recurring character. Neither of these turned out to be true, and I wonder if the writers changed their minds.

Oh yeah, the monster better be in the goddamn finale. Actually I thought I heard it growl briefly during the teaser.

Is next week going to be a two-hour episode?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Besides, there was no reason not to reavel who was on the boat. If it was Desmond, it would have only drawn audiences in more.

Kind of like how they originally didn't show Walt telling Michael where to go when they are communicating by computer. It turned out that it didn't really give that much away. It was frustrating then, and then finding out that where he was going wasn't even an actual surprise pissed me off even more.

Okay, they said they would examine the reasons why people were disappointed by the Season 1 finale and fix them. In my opinion, they hardly did. I have very little excitement for Season 3. They once again made the finale super ambiguous in many ways and, if Season 3 is anything like Season 2, most or all of them will not be answered until the end of the season. It's like I'm not really anticipating anything, but rather I'm left scratching my head, and I don't even care anymore.

Furthermore, I was disappointed on how it turned out the plane crash had to do with the button. That was the theory since like the very beginning of the season; I didn't think it would be true or not so simple.

Oh, and the monster was not in this finale. Or any other threat that might make a roaring/growling sound as I clearly heard in the trailer during the clip in which Jack was shooting.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

You know what I don't get? The bunker was somehow powerful enough to split apart a plane that was 30,000 feet in the air, yet the bunker itself remained in tact. Doesn't Desmond have fillings in his teeth? Wouldn't his teeth have been ripped from his mouth? The whole bunker would have imploded before a plane way up in the sky was suddenly torn in half. Shit, I'd imagine metallic objects from all over the island would have gathered around the bunker.

My theory is that the bunker somehow controls the island's electromagnetic energy; collecting it and discharging it at various intervals. When left unchecked, the island becomes easy to find. The massive white light might have been a huge and sudden discharge of electromagnetic energy. Although I'm not sure.

They could have been less ambiguous as to what happened to the bunker.

Oh, and Desmond could have explained what happens when you don't press the button in the first place?

Jack: Did you ever think this might be some kind of psychological experiment?
Desmond: Maybe, but that one time didn't press the button, metal stuff started flying across the room and weird shit started happening. Then the computer started saying system failure.
Jack: Oh.

Double Post:
Also, this has to be the coolest thing I've ever read. I like how this season of Lost was just a heavily expanded episode of the Simpsons:

TPTB may have lifted the ideas of the stack of pneumatic tubes to nowhere and the whole Hatch explanation from of all places, The Simpsons (or maybe they were just paying tribute).

First the little lift: In 1992's Marge Gets a Job, Marge goes to work for Mr. Burns at the Nuclear Power Plant. There she fills out reports each day and send them up a pneumatic tube where after a lengthy journey they are shunted out into an enormous pile of similar tubes filling up a nearby pond. (Sound familiar?) Oh, and the joke is that beavers are using the tubes instead of logs to build their dam in the pond. On Lost the tubes are just stacked (no beavers), so I guess TPTB made an effort not to lift the entire idea.

Now the big one: The Hatch. In 1995's King Size Homer, Homer purposefully gained weight so he could claim disability and work from home. A work station was set-up in his living room and and his sole purpose was to press a button to allow Mr. Burns' nuclear plant to discharge some radioactive gas. If the button wasn't pressed on a regular basis, the gas would build up and blow and take Springfield with it.

In the end, Homer ditches out on his post to go see a matinee screening of "Honk If You're Horny!" starring Faye Dunaway and Pauly Shore and left one of those nodding water-weight "drinking birds" to do his job for him (damn bird fell asleep on the job).

So with the radioactive gas built to dangerously high levels and ready to blow, Homer must race to the plant and pull the "Tank Manual Shutdown" to avert a Chernobyl. And although he's so fat he can't reach the manual shutdown in time, he accidentally falls in and his girth plugs the vent. Crisis averted.

Now compare that to the Hatch. A button-presser (alternately, Kelvin, Desmond, Locke and Eko instead of Homer) is set-up at a work station (in the Hatch instead of Homer's living room) to regularly push a button so a build-up of electromagnetic energy (instead of nuclear gas) is released -- and if not, the build-up would continue to dangerous levels and cause massive destruction to the surrounding area (at least). When the button wasn't pressed on the Simpsons (because Homer was watching "Honk if You're Horny!", Homer had to hit the "Tank Manual Shutdown" to avert disaster, while on Lost Desmond needed to turn the key to the manual shutdown.

Another coincidence or did we just find TPTB's inspiration for last night's season finale and the reason the plane crashed? Hmnnnn....
I should write a show where each season is an episode of a sitcom but with a lot of filler.

Most amazing jew boots
