General Questions
Use this thread to post small questions that don't warrant creating an entire thread. If the anime/manga already has an own thread, use that, unless it's too old. There will be plenty of regulars who will be more than happy to help you out.

Fjordor, if your friend is interested in manga, he should really check out Vagabod, based on some famous samurai novel. It is set around the beginning of the Tokugawa period (right after the battle of Sekigahara), and although it focuses mainly on the main character's swordsmanship, you also get a lot of background on that time.
I also believe that the first half of Otogizoushi is set in the Heian period, and many people don't like it because of the tons of information, but you might want to check that one out. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Peace Maker Kurogane doesn't really have any fanservice, but it als lacks a story for the first 18-20 episodes. you get a rather interesting premise in the beginning, but after that it's mostly comedy, and a poor attempt at that. I personally wouldn't recommend it.
