Pet demise

We used to have a family of cats at our old house -- a tabby and her two year-old offspring (one male, one female). One morning unbeknownst to us the male had climbed into the engine of our car, and when my mom turned the ignition there was a horrible thud as a fan blade smashed into its skull. It dropped to the floor dead, bleeding all over the garage. The mother cat made its way over, sniffed at it a few times, and walked away rather nonchalantly. It was sad to watch.
