I didn't see Toshio Masuda listed in the opening credits.
I've never watched Naruto but know a fair bit of the story, so I went and watched Shippuden. That's movie quality in the first 8 minutes. I'm not sure if they can maintain that kind of animation when they actually reach that part since the rest of the episode was normal TV quality. Great direction for the opening animation, too. I approve. Jam it back in, in the dark. |

"Crap"? Do you guys really have any idea what "normal TV quality" animation is like (especially for a series with over 200 episodes)? Or have you only been watching Kyoto Animation products?

Except that Tetsuya Nishio is involved in character design, not key animation.
Even if he was involved in that for any particular episode, there's also the in-between animation which you end up seeing the majority of the time, and this is mostly outsourced. One person's effort does not make the whole product. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
