I got Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children yesterday and watched it. Somehow my opinions of movies are always different from those of others, as I really seemed to enjoy it. There's lots of action in the second half of the film too.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Haven't been doing so much buying otherwise, moreso trading soundtracks with a friend in Ontario. A bunch of my discs have gone to him in exchange for these recently:

Cold Turkey (Randy Newman) - Limited to 1000 copies
Conspiracy Theory (Carter Burwell)
Doc Hollywood (Carter Burwell)

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Jesus Jinzo, what do you do for a living?
No kidding, that's probably $500 spent right there. Though you know me and soundtracks...

I got Demolition Man on DVD at Wal-Mart the other day in the $5 bin. A shitload of soundtracks too, no surprise there. I got back one of my favorites, J.A.C. Redford's One Night with the King. Plus Halloween V, the La-La Land Records expanded Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Alien, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Road Warrior... far too many to list here.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

This is basically a cross-post from my latest journal entry, but I bought a whole shit ton of stuff while I was away on holidays recently. This list amounts to around $250 in total ($190 USD, $60 CDN):

Vacation Purchases 2009

That, along with a few other CDs I had bought online:

Spoiler:
Received

28 Weeks Later (John Murphy) - Limited Print of 1500 Copies
Hard Contract (Alex North) - Limited Print of 1000 Copies
In Harm's Way (Jerry Goldsmith) - Limited Print of 3000 Copies
In the Electric Mist (Marco Beltrami) - Limited Print of 1000 Copies
Judgment at Nuremberg (Ernest Gold)
Lonely Are the Brave (Jerry Goldsmith) - Limited Print of 3000 Copies
The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing / The St. Valentine's Day Massacre (Leigh Harline, Fred Steiner, Lionel Newman) - Limited Print of 1000 Copies
The Journey of Natty Gann (James Horner) - Limited Print of 2500 Copies
The New World (James Horner)
The Right Stuff (Bill Conti) - Limited Print of 3000 Copies
The Stoning of Soraya M. (John Debney) - Limited Print of 1000 Copies

On Order

Last Embrace (Miklós Rózsa) - Limited Print of 2000 Copies
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (James Horner) - Newly Expanded Soundtrack Release
Twilight Zone: The Movie (Jerry Goldsmith) - Limited Print of 3000 Copies

It's a great year to be a James Horner fan; Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Journey of Natty Gann, and now recently Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. All in 2009 alone, with possibly more to come.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Like I said, I was on holidays so I went to a whole bunch of places in the northwestern US and in western Canada. Half Price Books and Hastings are the two major stores in the US that I buy from, and I also stop by a lot of thrift stores, ie Value Village, Salvation Army and the like. I always buy secondhand as it's cheaper than buying new and the CDs are usually in great condition (I always check them first for damage).

As for the DVDs, I got all of those at Wal-Mart, except Memories of Me. CD Plus in Canada carries a lot of MGM DVD titles that are 2 for $10.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
