[Wii] Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Ver. 214. Gobble Gobble Gobble, Slurp Slurp Slurp

I finally got Brawl and a Wii console, so my Friend Code's in the Wiki now. Looks like Kairyu added it in after I played a few matches with him earlier today (or yesterday, since it's 1:30AM here), but I made a minor fix since my screenname is BK2, not BK.

I'm interested in the tournament, but I honestly have no clue what's happening with that. I tried to read up on the threads, but there's like five of them all pertaining to the tournament so I'm confused as hell. Someone mind updating me on that?

I'm free all of this week since my spring break has started but I head back to school on Monday the 31st.

Why does the Dojo even bother to keep updating now that the game is out? There's certainly people who have wrapped through most of the game by now. I don't get it. -- Oh. Right. The Europeans. ;___;

So I had my first matches with Chaotic, nuttyturnip and Kaleb tonight. The swordsmen seem to be my best characters and Ike's moves are pretty damage-dealing too.

Any others wanting to Brawl with me? =O

By getting this LAN adapter, though, it'd basically mean there'd be a cord running across the house, since my Wii and TV is at one end and the computer/router at the other end. My parents get really peeved over stuff like that

Damn it. I really need to get an LAN adapter, as I'm having some lag issues as well, even if I have all my P2P stuff turned off. I tried to have one particular match with Kairyu and Chaotic and the match didn't even start until about a minute in because of lag.

1v1 matches run smoothly for me, but 1v2 or 2v2 matches get pretty laggy now. It's been happening since last night. ;_;

My console doesn't lock up either. Maybe your Wii's connection to your router isn't working properly - or it's an old router.

I'm a bit surprised I won most of those matches, however. I must have had more practice or something - or we should turn off Final Smash Balls. =L

The only reason there's lag for anybody really is because nobody knows how to configure their Wii and router so that the connection is made faster. It involves going into your router's DMZ settings as well as going into the Wii's options to modify the Internet settings (specifically Auto-Obtain IP Address, Auto-Obtain DNS and MTU Value).

And file-sharing, too. Using up your internet's bandwidth to play Brawl and transfer stuff online at the same time really slows it down. You gotta cut off your FTP, torrents, Soulseek, HTTP downloads, EVERYTHING.


Maybe I ought to write a small tutorial on this stuff.

I'm not saying you have to have a great router to play Brawl smoothly, but what do I know. I don't play a whole lot of video games nowadays and Brawl's the only reason why I wanted a Wii real badly. And from what I've been hearing Nintendo's online capabilities isn't on par as other developers anyway, right? =/
