I just built my own computer yesterday, all finished, everything runs and works. I checked to see if it works by booiting Knoppix from a disc and testing it out. Everything is fine. All drives work, etc, etc.

I took my computer back to my house from school (where I built it at) and tried to install Windows XP Pro on it. I got an error that read like so :

For realtek rtl8139(A/B/C)/RLT8130 pci fast ethernet controller v 2.11 (001205
Pxe-e61: meadia test failure, check cable
Pxe-M0F: exiting PXE rom

I tried the cd in a different computer, and it ran windows OS installer no problem.

Does someone know what the problem could be?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

This was the problem. And it had occured during the POST, because I couldnt boot Windows.
