![]() Ohhh baby I love it. What do you think it all means? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
My prediction? By the end of Season 2, they figure out a way to trigger something in the hatch that sends out a huge EMP and sends another plane crashing down into the island.
DUN DUN DUNNNNN There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Maybe The Others gave him some height-increasing drug injection.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Last week's was so god damn good, it's so disappointing to see this cookie-cutter "omg imaginary person lol" episode. Atleast they didn't totally fuck it up like High Tension. It was still pretty obvious all the way through that Dave was imaginary.
I was hoping for more hatch-related developments. One thing I don't like about this show is that there is NO COMMUNICATION between people on the island. If I was Locke, I would have been like "OMG YOU GUYS A FUCKING MAP" and tried to figure it out with everybody. I was hoping for that to get some discussion, but meh, no avail. I don't think Henry is lying about the numbers either. I had a feeling all along that it was some sort of electromagnetic thing, and I'm just one step closer to being correct. I'd like to know where the ration drop fell from, but I'm sure it will be a long time before that's answered. Personally, I was hoping for a more dramatic reveal as to what happens when the button isn't pressed. If Henry is in fact, not lying about it, it feels almost like a cop-out. I would have loved to have seen the numbers expire due to some retarded meddling between Jack and Locke, and then one of them runs to the computer, but it's too late. Lockdown! Then, they each are locked out from one another and we see what happens on both sides. All I want at the end of this season is a good explanation on the monster. Come on Lost, only a few more to go, don't let me down! I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Locke is by a wide margin my favorite character. He's such a burdened character. He carries so much bullshit on his back, and seeing him perservere and kick ass on this island is really great. He has the only back story I really care about.
What I loved about the monster last season was how imposing it was. Here they all are on this island after our plane crashes, and the last thing they could possibly need right now is some kind of monster. All of a sudden we hear this crazy horn sound and we see all the trees swaying around. That is FREAKY. Now all we see is this big horizontal plume of black smoke... It just kills it for me. For me, a good explanation is the only thing that can save the smoke monster. Most amazing jew boots |
You kind of have to figure it's not a robot, dinosaur, or something of the like, because that just doesn't seem to *fit* with the show... It's almost logical that it's something unexplainable and, well, totally fucking nuts.
But man, if it was a tangible being, that would add a whole new dimension and give the show a much-needed kick in the balls. Instead of just worrying about survival from nature, they now have to fight off a fucking actual MONSTER (or even more than one!). That would end the constant bickering and bitching between all the survivors that I'm getting so damn sick of. Not only that, it would thin out the herd a bit. How ya doing, buddy? |
I like his backstory ALOT, but on the island he's a complete tightass. He answers every question with a question, assumes superiority, and is just a plain ol' shithead. It's annoying to watch him because I know the type of person and people like that INFURIATES me.
FELIPE NO |
Or, maybe my theory of another plane hitting the islad will come true. I would really love to see that happen. We need some better characters on the show. That would be a nice way to kill 2 birds with one stone. Half of the survivors are wiped out by a plane crash, which in turn gives us some new people to follow. How ya doing, buddy? |
I honestly dont see Libby dying so easily... I think that her wounds will be non-fatal due to the blanket being there to help shield the blow. She had way WAY too much of a plant to not have any payoff. Come on, she was in the same god damned mental hospital as Hurley. They won't kill her just yet. Maybe she'll go into a coma and then snap out of it later. Either way, there's no way they can kill her.
Ana Lucia is gonzo though. Her story is pretty wrapped up as far as I can tell. Her encounter with Jack's father is interesting, but I can't see her tale going much further than this. Plus, I hated her fucking guts, so, that's a plus. Before I saw the episode, I looked on a news ticker and saw the words "shot" and "Lost" and I knew I had read something I shouldn't have. So, the whole episode I was trying to figure out who was going to shoot who. At first, I thought "Locke is going to shoot Jack" because Jack still gives him shit, and it bugs the crap out of me. I really would have loved to see that happen. How's that for a crazy plot twist eh? Then, as things went on, I started to think that Jack's dad (anyone know his real name?) might be involved with everything on the island (Dharma). And the whole bodyguard thing was a hint that Ana Lucia was put on the plane to defend Dharma, therefore, making her an Other that was brought in from an outside source or something. As far as Michael's stunt in the end goes, I definitely think it has to do with getting Walt back. That's pretty much common sence at this point. I have to wonder if the Others are anticipating and/or planning a full-scale war to occur because of this, and had Michael do that to get things started. Either way, I look forward to next week... I didn't read Eleo's spoilers because I like to watch it for myself, but I can't wait to see what happens... I'm expecting some great progress like there was tonight. I only want a few questions answered before the end of the season... 1. What's the giant ? in the middle of the island? 2. What's the god damn monster? 3. What happens when the button isn't pressed? I would like atleast one of those to be answered or touched upon by the end of the season... By the way, when is that? 2 or 3 weeks from now? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Eko truly does kick ass. No question about him. He and Locke make a fantastic on-screen team.
I'm a bit disappointed that Spoiler:
Other than that, a great episode. Anyone else see the Hanso commercial? Also, next week looks GREAT! I've been predicting that another plane will crash on the island and based on that final shot of the preview, I wonder if my prediction will be right... I guess we'll find out! There's nowhere I can't reach. |

If it's a dinosaur, or anything prehistoric, people are going to draw the obvious Jurassic Park references, and it's going to probably hurt the show. I know that I personally would be disappointed if it was a dinosaur. So, what badass tree-uprooting creatures are left? Giant ape? Huge humans? Crazed giraffes? Given how far we've come, and how much of a psychological mishmash this show has turned out to be, it has actually started to make sense that the "monster" is a horizontal plume of mindreading black smoke. I'm still eagerly awaiting an explanation of what it is. Seeing the monster is when the show took a turn for the worse for me, because it's too god damn weird. Things like that stick in my head, because I try my best to figure it out. But the monster has gotten me completely stumped, and it's infuriating. The whole thing that got me into the show to begin with wasn't even the notion of the Others or a hatch, it was this crazed fucking monster uprooting trees and stealing people in the first few episodes. Here are these poor saps trapped on an island after a plane crash, and now THIS? The whole reason I kept watching was to answer the question, "what is the monster?" I WANT ANSWERS! I was speaking idiomatically. |
According to this week's Entertainment, which just arrived in the mail, here's what we will be seeing in the season finale -
"This time, we'll see Walt again, learned what caused Oceanic flight 815 to crash, find out what the mysterious button actually does (if anything), and more." Well, that kinda helps my 2nd plane crash theory a bit... The button causes and EMP pulse, which lead to 815 crashing before. We find this out when another EMP pulse is unleashed and another plane hits the island. $10 says I'm right. I hope "and more" refers to the damn monster though. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
So much for my plane crash theory.
Come on, next week better fucking kick ass. I was waiting for some stirring developments all night. Seeing the Others and Michael's days with them is a nifty touch, but eh... I can't help but feel severely disappointed. Most amazing jew boots |
Charlie said where he found it but it sorta went out the other ear.
The finale shows some potential, atleast. It looks like Locke smashes the computer to hell, along with some other interesting tidbits that flashed onto the screen. Double Post:

For me, I'm just frustrated and disappointed that they aren't answering any questions. They keep on focusing on things that I simply do not care about at this time. I could care less about The Others. It's cool, yeah, but in all reality I could give 2 shits about them.
For me, the monster is what got me into the show. The idea of a big monster out in the jungle fucking with all these people is so damn cool. They pretty much put that on the back burner, and that pisses me off. It was the main hook of the show (if you ask me), and the completely wrote it off for the majority of the season. If I see it next week, I'll be having orgasms. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
If one thing interests me about the others, it's the fact that they love children. I'm interested to see what they've been doing with Walt and what they did to Aaron. Any ideas? There's nowhere I can't reach. |
What we now know-
Spoiler:
What questions are now presented- Spoiler:
As usual, the Lost formula continues - For every question answered, 2 more are asked. The last scene with the hatch was so well done I almost shit myself. Definitely the best scene in Lost history. It was extremely well-directed and it was just amazing to watch. The statue raises some really interesting new questions to ponder over. Just when I thought it was over, they show the fucking arctic tundra and show the Russian guys. Wow, that threw me for a huge loop. I can't wait to see what transpires from that. But, knowing this show, we probably won't know a damn thing about it until season 4. I was moderately pleased with the finale. A lot of questions are left hanging in the balance for next season. I can't help but wonder what next season's focus will be since everything seems to be in complete chaos and disorder at this point. Most amazing jew boots |
Another question - How did Pen know to look for a god damn electromagnetic anomaly to find Desmond?
When the hatch door came flying at Claire I thought for sure it was another plane coming down, but alas, I was wrong, and that sucks. What makes next season worth watching for me is just how different it's going to be based solely on everything that happened tonight. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
What sucks about the answered questions is that we all pretty much guessed them beforehand... I was hoping for some shocking answers. Well, I guess one could be that Henry was actually a member of some importance in the Others little clique thing... I was speaking idiomatically. |
As everything is settling into my brain, I'm much more satisfied than I was before.
I think it's safe to assume that neither Desmond, Eko, nor Locke are dead. Eko and Locke are, hands down, the two best characters on the show. Killing them off would be just plain idiotic. Locke as a character is really complex and amazing, and he has had such a huge arc between the beginning of the season and now. Next season will give us a totally different Locke, that's for sure. I almost choked up when he said "I was wrong" because he looked so distraught and destroyed deep down. He may not be dead, but I'm sure he feels dead at this point. Eko is a badass in every way. No two ways about it. He can't die because he has potential to develop even further and also say more badass things while carrying his big stick. With Desmond, I really loved his backstory, and I think he has a TON of room for growth. What I've seen is already better than most of the characters already present on the show, and if you ask me, he will add alot to the already great cast. If anything, this cliffhanger was leaps and bounds better than last season's because it's a whole bunch of them. The show is going to go in a completely back-asswards direction next season and to be honest, I can't wait. I can only hope that the direction it's heading in is a good one. Next season will probably have 3 episodes that take place in the same timeframe, similar to how this season started. 1 - Jack, Sawyer, and Kate with the Others 2 - Locke, Desmond, and Eko 3 - Hurley/Sayid/Michael and Walt Double Post:
