By giving some of them actual abilities in battle, yes. For instance, Fighter has the "Advance" ability which does...what exactly?

Otherwise, it's the same game, but with more detailed characters. Also, the Job System doesn't start as soon as it did originally, but that's because you have to go around collecting your party. Treasure chests are in the same place, NPCs say the same stuff, and the world is laid out the same way.

While I like having the touch interface, I wish they would've moved the command bar to the right side (or give you a choice for lefties). I don't really get to see my characters during battle since my hand is in the way. I also wish you could put the Menu and Zoom buttons on the same side. Other than that, I'm happy that this game has finally been released here.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Actually, it's not like that everywhere. It's a bit off-putting for the first cave, but once you get out it's not so bad.

And my friend code is 240602313427

Edit: Okay, I'm confused. Why are your codes showing up gray and not allowing me to send you mail?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Do we need to do this simultaneously or do we just have to register each other's code?

That's not for the command bar. It's for the functions of the L and R buttons on the map.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Why are you arguing about graphics for a DS game? And a remake of a NES game at that? It looks like shit, but who cares? It's still playable.

Edit: And someone send me a friggin' letter already!

How ya doing, buddy?

Yeah, you have to get them revived at a Holy Spring. Don't waste Phoenix Downs because you can't buy them anywhere. You'll definitely want to spend some time leveling up before you enter the Sealed Cave, though you shouldn't have to spend more than half an hour.

I'm about 20 hours into the game so far and I'm really enjoying it. I never finished the NES version, but I know I got this far. Only thing is, I could swear I remember getting the last crystal earlier than this, especially because I'm picking up lots of claws but I can't make anyone a Black Belt yet.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Well of course! FF3 came out before RPGs were "popular" and people were smart enough to either read the instruction manual or figure things out for themselves.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I don't think it's quite as difficult as the original game. I mean, I remember getting killed in the first town because I wasn't expecting to be attacked...in town. And I'm pretty sure I had to spend more time leveling in the original.

FELIPE NO

Has anyone beaten the game yet? I just ran through the final dungeon and got slaughtered by the final boss. It sucks for several reasons, and I'll just post this to warn everyone else. It all felt pretty easy even with four boss battles and some huge enemies. I figured the final boss would be tough, but I couldn't even keep my party standing. I guess I used the wrong tactics, but what sucks is that you can't even save before fighting it. So I'm gonna have to run through the whole place all over again.

For the record, I'm using a Ninja, Knight, Magus, and Devout.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
