I've beaten this and I must say this is one of the best Castlevania games. PERIOD.

First off, I'm glad the soul system from AoS/DoS is gone. I hated it. Second, the difficulty level is right on target. And if you find it too easy on the main game? Come back on Hard Mode with a Lv cap (50/25/1!). Boss Rush has 3 different factions that make for some interesting strategy.

And probably the best part? The bonus characters. Yes, that YouTube video wasn't a hoax after all! Playing as them is absolutely fantastic, though admitably they're overpowered. I completely obliterated one boss in seconds at Lv 1 (gaining 5 levels in the process).

Ending Battles notes:
Beating the two sisters wasn't too bad, unless you're going for the GOOD ending, then it's a royal PAIN IN THE ASS. The only spell in Charlotte's book that takes forever to cast and you have to use that one. Lovely.

The Dracula battle wouldn't be so bad, if you didn't have to fight him and Death AT THE SAME TIME. Plus there's three wickedly powerful attacks that if they hit, you're toast. One's pulled straight from Lament of Innocence. You can guess which one I'm getting at.

If you want a chance at beating Dracula, you need Vampire Killer. It'll make all the difference between winning and losing. You don't HAVE to have it to win, but you probably won't. Holy properties make up for its lower strength levels.

Malphas (demon that summons crows) was included
He is not in boss rush, but I did see him in the main game. Balore and that freaky laser guy from the tall tower are both in Boss Rush. Medusa got a nice revaming too.

boss note:
I also saw about every boss from Rondo of Blood included. Most were regular monsters, but that headless spear guy was a boss.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Sir VG, mind to rip the sound test for us ?
I'll try. I don't know if I have any cables handy to do it but I'll see what I can find.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Of course, somebody finds it AFTER I'm like halfway through ripping it. ;_;

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I played a little farther into the game's "depths of hell" portion.

For you Dawn of Sorrow players, you'll love it:
Spoiler:
Each section so far has ended with a different DoS boss, including Balore, that freaky guy from the right tower, Abadon (Yes that rotten locust bitch), and probably more. I know who the final boss is at the bottom, but I'm not saying! Not to mention I haven't gotten there myself and haven't confirmed. Having to go through 2 Frankenstein's in the same room is hard, even with the sisters. And Abadon is a bitch too.

I got a few tracks recorded, but then my save file went corrupt so no more sound test open for me. I'll have to take some time when I have it available and beat the game again.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Not really. You only need 2 to beat the game (Frog and Owl) and it's not dependant on some super rare luck. Thank god for that.

How ya doing, buddy?

You got it right. That's one of the missions early in the game.

As for my working on the rip, sorry guys. First my save got corrupted, then when I took off the Japanese version to put on the US version, I can't get EITHER of them to work on my M3 SD anymore. I'll have to try it on my new M3 CF version (yes, I have them both now).

Is this game realllllllly buggy or is it just my cart?
Flash cart or actual copy of the game? Cause flash cart players have reported numerous problems with crashing.

As for the looooong casting, I actually kept Charlotte close when a long ice column spell was casted and that seemed to work for me. I know it's hard and will take you a lot of tries...so hang in there.

How ya doing, buddy?

There is a rough sidequest guide over at GameFAQs for anybody needing help. Though it is based off the Japanese version, but it should be mostly the same, just some minor wording.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
