OPSEU are a bunch of greedy shitsacks!
Fuck them and thier fucking strike. It's all a bunch of fucking bullshit anyways - if they really did care about the quality of education, they wouldn't have chosen a month before finals to go on strike. And it's not like they're doing that much work in the first place anyways - they work 18 hours per week max, and make up to 92,000 CDN dollars, with the summer off, as well as every other school holiday. With every other perfessional making LESS money nowadays, what makes them think that they deserve any more?
So this is my message to them: Get the fuck back to work. Most amazing jew boots |
Jesus, it's not like it's fucking hard work either... Come the fuck on - the hardest it gets is making lesson plans for the courses at the beginning of your courses - and you can't expect it to be easy all the time. Sorry, I should've said fucking LAZY shitsacks. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
But class sizes arn't in the hundreds - the max class size before the strike was 36 students.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Sorry - They're the Ontario Public Services and Education Union or something like that, my college profs are on strike (week 2 now), because they feel that they want less work, and more money, while everybody else in the world is making less money, but doing more work.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
And far more importantly, all while we're STILL PAYING TO GET FUCKING TAUGHT. I pay about half thier salary in TUITION EVERY FUCKING YEAR, what gives them the right to WASTE MY MONEY like they are now.
Double Post: And just for some links for some information: OPSEU http://www.opseu.org College Students Alliance http://www.collegestrike.com http://www.educationfight.com I was speaking idiomatically.

Reason: Automerged double post.

Less then $90,000/year.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Even if 'whatever they want' raises your tuition by upto 22%?
FELIPE NO |
Sooo... Some prof apparently stood on a car at Centennial, and as most college profs should know, if you stand on a moving car - you're probably going to fall off. So as a stunning example of the effects of gravity (and silly me thought that they wern't allowed to teach during the strike), the professor fell off the car.
Talk about quality education! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I know - it's todo with balance and stability of moments (and as a pilot, I know all about stability), but gravity is ultimatly what caused him to fall and hit the cement. He was transported to the local hospital fighting for his life.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I pay 15,000 a year, but that's after my scholarships.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Soo... This is my first day back at class - and all it's done is make me more furious that these profs actually went on strike.
IF THEY WANTED QUALITY EDUCATION - THEY SHOULD TAKE A FUCKING LOOK AT THEMSELVES FIRST. To explain my point: First class this morning, we had the test that we were supposed to write the day the strike started - not a big deal, it's visual basic, and I'm pretty adept at coding in VB - especially for this class. Our professor is an idiot - he does no work, period. All his 'lectures' consist of are telling us what lessons are helpful at www.vbtutor.net, and what he wants the program to do at the end of the day. And don't bother asking him for help - he doesn't know the first thing about VB (and readily admits it himself). The lowest grade I've ever seen him give was an A (for a project that didn't even come CLOSE to what the requirements were), and the higest was A+++++++++++++++ (yes, an A with 15 plusses, remember, this is Canada's LARGEST college). So, after a breif spat with that prof (He was saying that he deserved danger pay for being on the picket line - so I told him that if I saw him on the line, I'd run him over in a heartbeat), the next class started. And this one is no better - it's an Air Canada Jazz pilot who's teaching us advanced aircraft systems - he knows his shit really really well, I don't have any doubts about that - otherwise he wouldn't be working at Air Canada. But when he comes into class, all he does is read word-for-word off a powerpoint. That's it. And if you ask him a question - he'll find the slide with the answer, and read it word for word. I left that class after 20 minues, I'd had enough. And that's not where it ends - one of my other professors recently moved here from Bulgaria - but barely speaks english (as in she understands maybe a handful of english terms). Get this - we recently had a presentation to do on how technology threatens society. First of all, together, the nine of us (in the group) maybe put in an hour of work, total, combined, the information we put up was sketchy at best, no references, and at points - completly off-topic or just plain wrong. Second, for the actual presentation - I was high as a kite, and couldn't stop laughing for the entire 10 minute presentation, 5 other group members didn't even know what our topic WAS, and one member didn't even show up. The two that were left just bullshitted and cracked jokes for 10 minutes for our presentatoin. As the other groups come up, I think we for sure failed - because they've spent hours making powerpoints, making them look good, and making sure that the information is correct. We scored 95%, while the class average was 70%. Sure - there are a few good teachers here, and for the most part - the flight instructors are top notch (there are exceptions) but it won't matter how many new teachers are hired, or how much the workload is cut by if the system is flawed in the first place. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
