Really?

I'm starting to think the DVD isn't worth it, and a case is just a case. So if I can get the regular version that much cheaper, its an easy descision; although I can't see why any place would sell it $10 cheaper....

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I went through circuitcity.com and couldn't find anything on the matter. I also tried calling my local circuit city only to have some clueless chick answer. Is there anyway you can verify this sale for me? Thanks!

It turns out that Walmart has the LE guide as well, and for only $18.60. I went to my local Gamestop to see about the guide and they also said they won't be in until friday. For the hell of it, I stopped at Walmart as well to see about the actual game (Walmart drops their prices with competitor's sales) and it turns out I could have them order the LE and get it on friday. Hopfully the LE guide can tie me over until tuesday!

I'll try to have some snaps up later but I'd be happy to answer any questions about the LE guide or artbook.
Your so lucky! My only question is how the guide is packaged, is it similiar to KH2's LE guide? I'm looking forward to a few pictures!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Did you see that at Walmart the store or online? Hmm, I was by Walmart for lunch, didn't go in. I hate going there, especially if I don't have to but if it's a huge price difference for the game and book, I might need to cancel my pre-order at EB.
The woman in the gaming area ordered it for me, she said it'll be in on friday. When I got home I checked walmart.com to make sure (I thought the LE's where an EB/Gamestop exclusive) that the LE guide was listed there as well, and it was. However, I'm not sure about the LE game as I plan on just buying the regular version.

It was my mom (she works at our local walmart) who said that if circuit city was having a sale, so would walmart. She basically said they always drop the prices with their competitors.

Yep, its pretty similiar to KH's LE Guide; the only difference is this artbook looks promising. Very sexy, can't wait until friday!!

Thanks for the pics!

So how thick is the actual guide?

I was speaking idiomatically.

351 pages. So with that plus a 90-100 page artbook makes it a pretty hefty package.
The same as KH2, which is pretty thick (yay). However I was a bit dissapointed with KH2's larger text size. How would you describe the text in this guide; small and packed with info (like Fantasy Fantasy X-2's) or larger and basic (self explanatory; Final Fantasy X?).

Sorry for all the questions. ^^)
You'd think I could just wait the two days.

Ooh, illustrations and concept sketches. Now I'm interested. You said Wal-Mart has this guide the cheapest?
Yep. Ask your local walmart about ordering it for you.

Why am I stuck with the stupid Walmart? "Uhh no we don't have that strategy guide, we don't carry guides. Oh and what game did you want? What's it on? No we don't carry that game either."
Yeah, thats to be expected from a store that sells everything known to man. Apparently my guide won't be in until monday (damn!). I guess thats what I get for going through walmart.... But its still cheap, and I won't be getting the actual game until tuesday anyway.

Thanks for the verification on Circuit City Simo! Hopefully it applies to my local circuit city, although I'd guess it probably does.

Looking over the guide it seems each character is a blank canvas, completely customizable for battle. I know this seems good, but I like a little direction; I'm afraid I'll miss out on something restricting a character to a mage or long distance attacker. This is all not mentioning having Espers restricted to one character permanently along with quickenings. So I have a few questions....

Does all the choice making become over whelming? Do you ever regret making a perminent decision?

Where does each character start on the License Board? Since the board is very organized with similar abilities and what not grouped together, it seems moving along will result in a character who only specializes in one strict area. Or do I have the concept of moving around the License Board completely wrong?

Do characters have their own quickenings, unlocked via a quickening box on the License Board? Or are their specific quickenings on the License Board which can be distributed to any character?

For me, it seems the game is too customizable. I'd hate to get 20 hours into the game only to find I made the wrong decision giving an esper to the wrong character or granting one-time abilities to the wrong character.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I also hear that opening some chests at select locations will also stop you from obtaining a rare powerful weapon later on in the game which I pray isn't true as I've already opened the chests in question...
Its true, I'm pretty sure its the Zodiac Spear. I have no idea why they would include this, probably to sell more guides. I honestly hate games that don't allow you to backtrack should you miss something, one chest mistakenly open (open a chest? you could make that mistake...) and you can no longer receive the game's most powerful spear.

In the fortress town [I forget what it's called, starts with N] just outside of Rabanastre, there's two guards blocking the way to the Highwaste. Go up and listen to them talk, then hop on a Chocobo and approach them again. This will let you enter the Highwastes, and on a Chocobo as well. So you're safe from mobs.
The guide mentions the Golden Amulets can be bought in Mt. ??? (not there yet, not sure of the name) and Rabanastre Lowtown (from the traveling merchaint). Now I'm not sure about the later, but either way I would like to get Golden Amulets for my party as soon as possible. I'm currently right after obtaining all characters (traveling to Tomb of Raithwall). When will I be able to branch off and buy them? And from where?

Thanks!!

Sorry about your loss Simo.

So the Golden Amulet can only be obtained in the Mt. and no where else?

I hate to quote such an old post, but I was wondering if the Snake skin listed above is also needed to obtain the esper Zalera. If so, then I'm afraid I'd have to start over.

I'm at King Raithwall's Tomb and have a question regarding the story thus far...

Spoiler:
Ok, Ghis steals the Dusk Shard. Ashe needs... the Dawn Shard to prove her blood (which I still don't understand why people can't visually recognize her). Apparently this Dawn Shard is real "deifacted" nethicite. Yeah, ok. Then theres the Midlight Shard somewhere in there as well.

All these stones and shards are really confusing me. Wouldn't it really be the Dusk Shard that proves Ashe's blood since it was the one that was given to the Kingdom of Dalmasca?

Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind. More progression into the story made all clearer.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I have a question regarding the story. I'm currently returning to Rabinastre after Raithwall's Tomb.

Spoiler:
Why is it the Vayne is being accused of being behind Rozarria's plans to attack the Archadia?

Thanks for clearing that up for me Lian_Kazairl. As awesome as the script is, its often hard to catch something when its wrapped around complicated words and constructed in that of the way of 16th century england.

I just have one more question regarding that....

Spoiler:
I thought it was the Dawn Shard that destroyed the Leviathan. Could it perhaps be his desire to get a hold of the Dawn Shard that the Senate regarded as reckless?

How ya doing, buddy?

How is everyone making the permanent decisions of assigning Espers to characters? Flipping through the strategy guide, I've noticed their aren't an even number of level 1, 2, and 3 Espers. This makes the difficult decisions even harder. As of yet, I've only received the first one; and I gave it to the character he "reminded me of". Not the most orthodox method I'll admit.

I was speaking idiomatically.
