The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) - Despite reading the book I just can't get tired of this movie. I won't lie to you, I love the way the movie was represented. I think quite the opposite, really. This movie took a brilliant book which at parts is the absolute pinnacle of dry humor, and schlocked it into a glossy grave. This movie was in pre-production for twenty years, and it gets made a few years after Douglas Adams' death; the movie studios only made this picture after they knew he would no longer have a say. "Dumbing it down" is the wrong term, but it's certainly a different kind of humor meant to appeal to a wider audience. If you liked the book, I'd recommend the BBC mini-series that's now on DVD in place of this.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
