The poem that Locke posted is printed on Canadian ten dollar bills. It's not exactly like this is a reaching artistic statement. This poem is to Canada as NEVAR FORGET is to the States. Little kids memorize this. It's as patriotic as we get.

Canadian troops participated in one or two successful battles in WWI, but the government here goes apeshit overemphasising the importanceof the slightest Canadian military achievement, so every other Canadian thinks we played absolutely vital roles in both World Wars. Locke is by no means more deluded about this than the average Canuck.
