Your Movie
I think that all of us have a large selection of movies that we love, cherish, and recommend to our friends and family. But there are particular movies to which we are uniquely attached. Ones that we really want everyone to see, understand and appreciate as much as we do.
I want to hear about the one movie that you wish the entire world could appreciate, love and enjoy as much as you do. I'd love to hear a convincing argument as to why this movie is so great and one that I must watch. Now, we are not necessarily looking for obscure movies, but at least ones that are not uber-popular (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars). However, controversial-popular ones or niche-popular ones are good grounds for a pick (Boondock Saints, Brokeback Mountain, or my example below).
My pick is the Village. It drives me nuts that people don't see this movie for what it really is, and that is a most artfully-crafted movie. Bryce Dallas Howard was absolutely amazing and so stunningly innocent. The acting was brilliant between Bryce, Joaquin, and the uber-long shots that are nearly whole scenes. The camera work was masterful with colors and detail with unique viewpoints. The music is some of the most beautiful violin soundtrack work ever. I mean, I could go on and on. I really hope and wish that people could appreciate this for more than a "spooky" movie or "surprise" flick. It really is a dramatic piece of motion picture art. So check it out.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
