If you are going to go AMD, then I advise the Athlon64 4200 X2. It really is the best price/speed ratio processor. And you can get them now for about $200 or less. Also, make sure if you are getting AMD, to purchase Socket AM2, NOT Socket 939 as this is being phased out.
As to the 7800GS, I'm interested, but not alot of money interested. I already have a X800XT-PE, but I imagine the the 7800GS is faster.
