I was going to write something snarky about how this would be Se7en again, but with the zodiac instead of the deadly sins, and how that was pathetic. I was going to point out that reusing an already successful formula is not indicative of creative genius and therefore I'm not all that impressed. And I liked Se7en, too. (Such a stupid spelling of the title, though. Who puts a number in a word like that any-- Oh, wait. eXistenZ has stupid spelling as well and I really like that movie. End tangent.)
Anyway, the trailer looks good, so ha-ha on me. The cinematography or visual style or whatever appeals to me, and Gyllenhaal and Ruffalo also appeal to me. I could see renting this. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Yeah, when I saw that it was based on a true story and not just "hey let's make another movie like Se7en, but with the zodiac!", I was able to look at the trailer with an open mind. Certain marketing tactics work better on me than others, apparently.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
