i've only been set up once, and that lasted for two years (freshman-junior year of high school).
the girl who set us up was friends with both of us, and she wanted him to hook her up with a guy. so it was like a trade-off, me to him for his friend to her.
it worked out well, but ended with him wanting to play the field (that realization that, for many, high school isn't the rest of your life), although he ended up dating one of my close friends IMMEDIATELY afterward (she kind of screwed him over, so it was okay?).
i've never set anyone up, i don't think it's wise unless, like many of you said, you know the two people really well. and even then, i would hope it to work but not expect it. from my experience, people tend to find the right person by not looking for any person.
but then again, if you are set up, you might be put with someone who understands physical, cultural, psychological, interest, etc. things that random people would have no idea about...
Jam it back in, in the dark.
