One of the problems I had with cubed's site was that you had to follow a rigid structure. For larger rips or for those times when time was short, I simply didn't want to take the time to fill out every individual entry box. After trying to edit a page at GMR, I see the same setup.
Maybe what I'm saying is that it would be nice to have the ability to just copy and paste a block of text up there, such as from foobar2000's copy function, which will display the titles, lengths, and track numbers or something like that (yes, I realize that'd be just like a Wiki). But I'd be all for a site just like GMR/Cubed's World as well, so long as it stays around. Most amazing jew boots

But couldn't you write a code that could convert the text? Say, for every line, it'd be [Disc] / [Track] / [Title] / [Artist] / [Length in mm:ss]. Or just have separate boxes for each disc, and have each line say "[Title] / [Artist] / [Length in mm:ss]" and let the script give each line a tracknumber. The reason why I'd like to see this is because foobar has its useful copy function, and it can be formatted to copy tracklists out in a certain format. If there was, say, a code box where you could just copy this text in a certain format, and let the site format it into tables and stuff for you, it'd save all the contributors a lot of time.
I'm not sure how hard this would be to code, as I have little experience with coding, but I imagine it wouldn't be too hard since lots of programs have such scripts. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Spoiler:
That is the default copy setting of foobar2000 0.9.1. The format of that is Playlist number. Artist - [Album {CDx} #tracknumber] Title It can be formatted any which way though. Spoiler:
Here it's Discnumber-tracknumber Artist - [Album] Title That's one of the reasons why I want this text parser feature so much, because it's very simple to use and easily customizable to fit any situation. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

a) not have proper track titles (i.e. just tracknumbers) b) may not loop (because the default storage format is one loop plus a few seconds, and there is a code that tells the game where to loop to. This is no longer a concern for ADX music though, thanks to hcs's in_cube Winamp plugin.) c) is a less-than-ideal line-in recording The thing is, a lot of these kinds of rips are RARE or impossible for anyone else to do, and are often in great demand. For example, DVD_Rick is famous for digitally ripping loads of PS2 games which no one could do or take the time and energy to record and tag. The "problem" is that he doesn't tag them, but leaves them numbered. I say these kinds of rips should be added to such a gamerip index, but under a different "category" or something. I'm guessing you'd really only need one to be considered a ripper..
I was speaking idiomatically. |
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
The Rippers' Stash is great.. easy and fast to add rips, and there's an edit feature (iirc cubed's world lacked it?). Great job!

I noticed that just in the past few minutes, you added line breaks into the rip information, which was great.. and also killed word wrap. Just wanted to make sure you were aware.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Cubed, just out of curiosity.. how is the single-track download box coming along? I would assume you'd just need the URL and a parser character per line, but as it says.. I won't be entering anything for fear of my life
