Yum. I like yaki soba with the lots in my okonomiyaki please. And toppings with the lots: okonomi souce, mayo, mountain of seaweed and pickle ginger. It goes really well with a cold glass of beer. And it's already a satisfying meal.
The Chinese scallion pancake is more like a side dish (like bread), it's drier, usually without any meat, and doesn't come with sauce. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
What do you mean by 'premium food'? Back home this is like fast food for a tight budget (around 700-1000 yen, less than US$10 anyway, sometimes even include a beer), rank like a bowl of ramen or a bento from convenient outlet...
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Make sure you have the proper one, the one they cook it on your table. I have tried a few version when I came to Australia in those Asian (Chinese) takeout, they taste more like omelet with lots of cabbage and nothing else in it. Then they put some sauce that tasted like bbq sauce and some homebrand mayo on it. And they call THAT okonomiyaki too.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Life would be much easier in Tokyo if you like fish.... since steak is so expensive... unless you eat chicken all the time....
