Tsubasa Chronicle

The abominable adaptation of Tsubasa Chronicle continues its run on April 29 with its second batch of episodes. All that's known at this time is that there's going to be a new OP (IT'S by Kinya) and ED (Kazemichi Jet by Sakamoto Maaya). It's quite likely that this season will end around the current manga arc if it's structured like the first season.

Quote:
Sakura is the princess of the Kingdom of Clow, which is ruled by her older brother, King Touya. Her childhood friend, Syaoran, is a young archaeologist. Sakura is revealed to have strange powers when she has a vision of a mysterious symbol and places she has never seen. Meanwhile, Syaoran discovers the same symbol at the ruins he is excavating. When Sakura goes to the ruins to confess her love for Syaoran, she spots the symbol. Ghostly wings appear on her back and a mysterious force begins to pull her into the walls of the ruins. Syaoran rescues her in time, but her wings are scattered across dimensions. The High Priest, Yukito, immediately realizes that Sakura's "wings" were the manifestation of her soul and memories; without her wings, she will die.

Yukito sends Syaoran and the unconscious Sakura to the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko. There he meets Kurogane, a rough-mannered ninja banished from his world by Princess Tomoyo, and Fay D. Fluorite (or Fai D. Flowright, or other combinations of Fai/Fye/Fay and Fluorite/Flowright), a magician who fled his world to avoid King Ashura. Each of them must pay with what he values most in order to gain the power to cross dimensions. Only when the three agree to her terms does Yuuko present them with the power to cross dimensions: Mokona Modoki.

With Mokona in their possession, the three venture off to other worlds to recover Sakura's memory.

I don't believe so. FUNimation hasn't alluded to an acquisition beyond the first 26 episodes.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Here are some screens to compare the differences between the Tsubasa Chronicle Movie and the Anime itself. In motion, everything looks really smooth and the style is a welcome change from the "normal" Tsubasa Chronicle.
I fanboyed over the trailer when they showed the scene of the four arriving at Yuuko's. I was like, "This is what the anime series should have looked like."

Tsubasa Chronicle's movie was screened as with the xxxHOLiC movie as a double feature. If you put the runtimes of the two together, you get a pretty decent runtime anyways. It works out in the end, as the two are linked anyways.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'll wait a bit until someone makes a torrent for this movie, I don't like IRC Fservers at all, so I just use them as a last resort.
Oh, and for those of you who have seen the movie, is it good ?
Yeah, the movie's connected to the xxxHOLiC movie.

I thought the movie was pretty, well, forgettable. You can watch it and be entertained, but on the other hand you're apt to forget it pretty quickly. It's just a thirty-five minute movie; there's not much in the way of depth or plot.

I highly doubt it. I'd be pretty disappointed if they took such a cheap way out.

I just see this new world as a teaser for the end of X.

3/5
The xxxHOLiC and Tsubasa movies were written with the intention of having a "linked" double feature. (The trailer even says, "Our stories are linked.") They just decided to give xxxHOLiC more focus than Tsubasa, to which I say "bravo."

The length of the Tsubasa movie is not at all an uncommon length in Japan. The Digimon movies maxed out at around 45 minutes, easy. (The 3rd movie was split into two segments, so it ends up being the longest Digimon movie.)

I just watched the raw of the first episode of season two. While some aspects were definitely improved (Yuuko is no longer a shoujo anime reject! Kurogane is no longer the poster boy for anorexia!), some failed to raise the bar; the OP and ED sequences felt plain and uninspired.

If you're a manga fan, you're going to have to live with the changes they've made to the anime. It seems that they're switching around Shara/Shura and Piffle World so that the second season can end on something dramatic. I'm not really complaining, as Piffle World's inherently boring anyways.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, especially the second half with Shara/Shura. There's gonna be some good stuff right there.

Probably someone from BeeTrain.
I went into the second season with the exact same fears, but I came out of the first episode with the impression that Bee Train learned from their mistakes and now they're trying to honor CLAMP's style rather than twist it to be their own. That's exactly why the character designs look different, and I applaud them for making that change.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

As previously conjectured, they probably did it to have the second season end with a "bang" rather than a whimper. I mean, really; Piffle World is dreadfully boring in the manga, and I can't see how they could try to spice it up in the anime.

One mystery confirmed.
Chapter 119:
No, the Syaoran that Fei Wan sealed away was the "real" Syaoran. He can't be a clone of himself if he's the real deal.

They're going to go even further than I thought they would and adapt the world after Shara/Shura and Piffle World. I think there's one filler episode after Shara/Shura ends, since I saw a list of episode titles recently.

I honestly don't see how Bee Train is going to faithfully adapt the current manga arc into the anime once they reach that point. It's easily the most violent so far.

Speaking of which...

Chapitre 120:
Holy shit. If there was ever a pivotal arc in Tsubasa, then the Tokyo arc is it. There's been so much stuff going on in Tokyo that it's making my head spin, not to mention that CLAMP's tendency to take breaks kind of messes up the flow slightly.

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the plot twists that CLAMP's thrown at us in recent chapters (Xing Huo helping the "Evil Syaoran"? How is Yuuko interfering by helping "Evil Syaoran"? Subaru and Kamui are the twin vampires? "Evil Syaoran" is really the real Syaoran and the Syaoran we know is just a clone created by Fei Wan?) but chapitre 120 makes all of those plot twists look like run-of-the-mill everyday things.

Fei Wan kills Xing Huo? Syaoran blinds Fai in his left eye?

Not to mention that Yuuko looks like she's explaining a helluva lot at the beginning of the chapter and so does Fei Wan right before we see that Xing Huo's dead as a doornail. Gotta wait for a translation...

What the hell is going on?

Just ignore my post if you have grabbed the latest raw.
Some was right and some was wrong:
You forgot about Rekord, which Sir VG mentioned in his spoiler tag. After Rekord is Tokyo.

Kamui doesn't address Syaoran as "Subaru," though. Subaru is an entirely different person--one of the twin vampires that Seishirou's hunting for (the other is Kamui himself). He merely refers to Syaoran as "E," or "bait."

thanks for pointing these out.
It's a direct reference to xxxHOLiC:
There was an incident in volume 5 of xxxHOLiC where Yuuko told Watanuki not to be "E." "E" was translated by Del Rey as "game," or "bait." The soul-stealers from volume 5 were also revealed in chapitre 120 to be directly tied to Fei Wang--he's stealing souls to fulfill his dream.

Kamui never asked Syaoran if he was Subaru. From chapitre 117:

pg25.
Kamui:
I'll kill you.

If your blood is drank dry, then perhaps he will awaken...

pg26.
Subaru.

From chapitre 118:

pg8.
Kamui:
...I will..

awaken Subaru.

As soon as he arrived in this world, Subaru went to sleep under these waters...

I came here to protect that sleep. However,

pg9.
If he stays like this, that guy will catch up to us.

We need to move to the next world...

pg10.
Subaru.

How could Kamui have asked Syaoran if he was Subaru if Subaru went to sleep when he arrived in Tokyo?

Also, Kamui confirmed that Subaru gave his blood to Seishirou.

Kamui:
Then does it belong to that hunter?

Since Subaru gave his blood to that guy...

CLAMP would be insane to not imply the same type of relationship between Subaru and Seishirou as witnessed in Tokyo BABYLON and X. After all, Subaru and Seishirou from Tsubasa share the same type of soul as Subaru and Seishirou from Tokyo BABYLON and X.

The Tsubasa and xxxHOLiC movies were a double feature and crossed over with one another. Syaoran appears at the very end of the xxxHOLiC movie (via black Mokona hologram) to ask for an item that was procured during the events of the xxxHOLiC movie.
