Posted this in the Bugs/Features thread a few days ago, so I'll just paste it here:

How about permalinks for journal comments? It can sorta be done through pagination by setting the number of comments to 1, but the comment that's displayed is different based on whether or not the viewer's journal comments display is set to newest->oldest or oldest->newest. In order to be able to link to specific comments in this journal entry for EVERYONE to see, I had to take screenshots of each one.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I just put between the : and the ), with :) becoming :), as opposed to . I've been doing this for ages when posts or journal entries make text into smilies when I don't want it (IRC logs for instance). Sure, it's a workaround, but till they make a checkbox, you can use that.
There's a tag that, in addition to leaving tags like and so forth intact, also doesn't render smilies like :). It requires more keystrokes than the trick, but if you have lots of smilies you don't want to render in a chatlog, you can just stick a at the top and a at the bottom and the whole thing will be image-free without having to track down every single one.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
