Castlevania PoR had no touch screen stuff at all (at least in-game, you could still select stuff in the menu with it)

It actually did, but I guess you never used it! If you have both characters on the screen at the same time and touch somewhere on the screen, your partner (the one you're not controlling) will move to that place.

I've never used it either. :\
