What's the problem people are having? The hordes or the special infected? Are you meleeing copiously during horde attacks?

Does anyone know: do tanks have a weakpoint? I've heard people claim the hands or the head.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Now, is this three tanks at a time? Or over the course of the final siege? Because that seems like the standard; you're going to get around five Hunters, Smokers and Boomers and two Tanks before your salvation arrives, then generally another Tank (but sometimes a Boomer, as Pang, Sass and I found out a couple of nights ago) during a Horde as your help shows up.

Why they don't just pop a Witch in there is beyond me.
I tested on easy; if you kill the third tank that appears during the "escape!" sequence the game spawns a fourth.

Unfortunately, I don't think I could ever melee a tank to death or a witch...By god I'll try though if I get desperate.
Actually, if a tank is pounding on an incapacitated (on the ground) buddy, meleeing it in the back will turn it's attention to you.

But sometimes it's better to sacrifice one person and keep firing like a madman.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Tokubetsu, a cheap way to beat No Mercy on expert (campaign only, not versus):

Spoiler:
Go up to the roof-platform that has the minigun. Face the minigun, then turn 180° away from the minigun and jump on the air conditioners on the roof. Then very slowly walk off the air conditioners, walking away from the minigun: you should jump straight down from the A/Cs onto a teeny tiny ledge. You're safe from the hordes here. Just be quick with melees against any hunters/smokers, and spread out when the tank manages to climb up. Use molotovs against each tank and pipe bombs for the run to the helicopter at the end. Keep your health green if possible so you can outrun tanks.

Or there's the closet in the radio room. Two people crouch & melee, two shoot overhead, just clear out before each tank arrives.


This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The smoker (in plain sight) snared someone up, and us hunters systematically (within like...3 seconds) all managed to pounce on every single other survivor so that all four of them were completely screwed.

Weird thing was, they were actually all laying there, snagged or pounced, and it didn't stop...the round only ended when they were all brought to that incaped phase. Which was weird in my book.
Gives them a chance to pistol-shoot someone free from the ground.

Any of you guys know what determines what you'll spawn as in Versus? It seems pretty arbitrary to me. There are some times where I end up being nothing but the hunter for the entire level, and then there's other times where I can't stop being the boomer.
I've heard that there's a 20-second delay for the hunter and smoker to be reactivated after being killed. This often works out that if you die with the smoker, your other teammates will die when smoker's unavailable, and you'll respawn as the person to get it.

Coincidentally I think this is why you sometimes get a team with 3 hunters on it.
