Awesome news for the few of us that will actually care. Sony announced they added iXMF support to the PS3 SDK. This is pretty much the awesomeness of awesome for game sound and music development right now.
Here's a good article on what iXMF is: Gamasutra - Introducing the Interactive XMF Audio File Format There's nowhere I can't reach.

So I've been playing Ar Tonelico on my PS3 for a few days now. I've been backing up my save data due to the corrupt data reports and sure enough I ran into the problem. I've also figured out the cause.
For the few games that have this issue, do not bring up the PS3 system menu while the game is reading the system data from the card at the start. This is what is causing the data corruption since bringing up the menu has basically the same effect as removing the card during the read. I was able to recreate the data corruption almost every time by doing this. I also got a few other games to exhibit the same problem so I guess good practice would be to not bring up the system menu until after any card data read/writes are complete. This is an important consideration for those planning on getting Mana Khemia at the end of the month as the Japanese version has been reported to suffer the same issue as AT did. It might not be fixed for the US release. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

If you were looking to pick up a Dual Shock 3, Play Asia is having a 20% Easter sale right now on everything. You can get a Dual Shock 3 shipped for $54 which is less than the $55 + sales tax price the DS3 will have when it's released April 15th and get it a few weeks early.

Oh they finally released some info. This is pretty exciting from a developer point of view as well since the new store uses a new proprietary language rather than being HTML based. It will allow games with large amounts of downloadable content (Rockband for example) have their own portals within the PSN store with layouts that suit the content rather than having to fit the content around the PSN store layout.
I was speaking idiomatically.

Mmm...wait for in-game XMB integration to find out the main purpose of the store redesign.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
|
Well the new store is programmed as an extension to the XMB rather than being a separate module like it was before meaning the old style required the XMB code to be purged from memory to make way for the browser based PSN. This causes all kinds of integration issues.
Basically when in-game XMB is released opening it up will also give a Playstation Store icon that links directly to that game's available content. It will be able to overlay all of the store information over the game screen so purchases can be made and installed without leaving the game. And depending on the game you might not even need to reset the game after the content is installed. It should make managing DLC for each game a lot easier too as it keeps track what is installed already. Downloads while in-game should be a big thing too and this includes being in emulated games or watching movies. FELIPE NO

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Naruto isn't my thing but I can appreciate the best looking cel shading ever.
Gametrailers.com - Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm - Exclusive Action Trailer HD Wow. I hope they start up a .hack project after this. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Making various game soundtracks available for download would be friggen awesome. I would love to be able to support game composers more but right now importing is just too damn troublesome and way too expensive for me to do it often.

There should be no noise issues with the 60GB since last firmware. A small batch of them had a CPU thermometer issue which was stealth fixed in the last update.
How ya doing, buddy?
