I haven't heard of a nin nerf. I dont really see why they would need one anyways. SE already fixed that hate deal with Nin tanking. Nins should be left alone.

I'm not very happy with the news of a BLM nerf. It really isn't needed. Especially when things like Manaburns do not get you a great amount of experience. Towards the end of the game melee burns are more powerfull and get you experience much quicker. Is SE going to go and nerf those when people realize and start bitching? >_>

Not to mention BLMs were just fine how they were. They're very frail and would die in any normal party/mission setting. Thier suposse to do high damage with thier spells. That's why they're blackmages. But if any mob comes thier way they will fall and the BLM will be wishing they held back.

But I guess this does confirm one thing, SE *does* listen to us. They just decided to listen to the whiners this time. Seriously, it's the only reason BLM is getting a nerf. When Ranger got fixed all I saw was tons of people saying Blackmage must now be nerfed! Few months later.. what do you know. It happens.

So SE is going to be adding Chocobo breeding to FFXI. Even a racing track later on. It was said they had no plans for being able to call your raised chocobo but you never know. That could be added sometime down the road.

From what I understand you have to feed and take care of your chocobo. You can breed it with your friends chocobos. There are different colors, not just yellow. Depending on how you take care of them they will be fat, thin, average, ect.. If you do not take care of them they will run away.

It's suppose to be as easy as gardening and it's open to all levels.

I think it's about damn time they added this. So many people have been asking for it. It should have been added awile ago.

I cant wait to make myself a big fat yellow chocobo. :D

How long ago did you quit? They changed the time a long time ago. Content IDs will be recoverable for up to 8 months now.

I've been playing just as long. I'm the same level too.. my Paladin is only 63. ._. Though my other jobs are much lower. Only in their 20s. I take too many breaks from the game.

I'm interested in the new avatars. I know there's terrestial and celestial avatars. We have all the Terrestial avatars, I think.. But we dont have all the Celestial ones. The only four currently in the game that comes to mind is Fenrir, Diablo, Pheonix, and Bahamut. Two of them being impossible to summon right now. (Bahumut and Pheonix)

While we have Garuda, Ifrit, Shiva, Leviathin, Carbuncle, Ramuh, and Titan for terrestial avatars.

This leaves 3 more spots open for new celestial avatars. Two of them will most likely end up being Odin and Alexander. Not only because SE has hinted at it but because they have constelations in the sky. But I do have one problem with Alexander.. because I always thought his power was supose to rival Bahumut. Yet he could become a summon. O.o

It's just too bad Bahumut and Pheonix cant be summoned. Bahumut being way too powerfull and Pheonix kinda.. trapped at the moment.

And no one knows if an actual player has done that. I know no one on my server has maat's cap yet.

It's impossible you could get to 75 on all jobs in 2 months. There just.. isn't enough time even if you went 24/7. It takes atleast a month of nonstop leveling whenever you can just to reach the 60s on one job. This does not include leveling of a subjob to match.

Oh god, yeah. SE is planning to add a hotel where players can reserve private rooms for up to 1 hour.

They say it's for linkshell meetings or wedding celebrations. But I'm sure everyone knows what it's REALLY for.

Too many people complain about the prices. Things have gone up in price but so has everything else. Except for the high value stuff the normal equip and goods are still the same, just with more zeros.

They just see high numbers and dont realize that they're also making more. So instead of making 10k and buying a 5k piece of armor, they're making 20k and buying a 10k piece of armor.

New players actually have the capability to make more. I know when I started back when it came to North America it wasn't exactly easy to make cash. The new players have no idea how many crafters are waiting for them to dump all the crafting supplies into the AH as they level up. Too short sighted I guess.

I do know this game will end up downloading alot when it comes time for updates. Which will eat up alot of bandwidth.

Allakhazam isn't a good place for human interaction right now. After being bought out by Zam.com a large portion of the member base got angry and the forums still have not recovered from the bitching.

Something about the company also owning IGE and the company's CEO created IGE. So people think Allah sold out to the gil/gold/adena/whatever sellers.

I dont know the real truth, nor do I really care. All I know is that the forums have been full of alot of arguing, flaming, spam, and general bullshit. More than the usual amount.

Oh yeah, this is probably my bias speaking but I would be cautious about joining a HNMLS. It's very competitive and time consuming. Much more time consuming than what FFXI normally demands. Alot of guilds basicly want you to put the HNMLS above everything else. It's also a big magnet for drama and can ruin friendships.

On Titan I've had many good LSes fall apart because either alot of members went for endgame and ditched everyone or it fell apart trying to change into a HNMLS. Half of the people I knew completely changed and became stuck up asses who ignore you unless they need something. A mithra and elvaan comes to mind here but I'll keep thier names to myself. >_>

I've yet to find a good Endgame LS and have been heavily alienated from the scene because of what it does to some people. So I'm heavily biased. I'm sure there are some good ones. But I haven't found them yet. :P

FFXI doesn't have a windowed mode and SE doesn't want there to be one.

There is 3rd party software to force XI into a windowed mode but it is against the TOS. If anyone were to find out you could be banned.

Doesn't stop alot of people from using it though. It's really annoying having fullscreen forced on you.

A warning. The windower tends to break with a large update to FFXI and now it seems the creator is moving on to other things. So if it breaks again it may not be fixed. The current version is kinna unstable itself now. But it still does what you need it to, window the game.

Anyway, I'm a warrior, level 7 I guess, and after briefly trying Red Mage, I reverted to warrior again very quickly. When is it possible to pick a subjob? I'd love being able to spice my warrior with some nifty Cure-magic, or perhaps a little black magic. That'd really help when I'm being pummeled by an obseenly strong Walking Sprout...

At level 18 you can do a quest in Selbina or Mhaura to unlock your Subjob. Depending on which quest you do you will have to collect a few items for the NPC. Most people do Selbina's because you usually get two of the items as you level in Valkurm Dunes.

For the Selbina one you just visit the old elvaan, Isacio, and get the quest from him. He will want you to go and fetch a Magicked Skull, a Crab Apron, and a Damselfy Worm. Usually you will find the Crab Apron and Damselfly Worm as you level with others in Valkurm Dunes. The Magicked Skull will be a bit tricky. You dont always get that item as you level because alot of people do not fight Ghouls. You may have to find someone to help you hunt that down.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Leaked out? How has it been leaked out when SE announced themselves that they were working on another MMO for the 360 and Vista at the last Fan festival? The only difference here is that there's the word PS3 in there.

They never said it was a FFXI sequel either. They said the team that worked on FFXI is doing it but that's all. I don't know where the media gets this stuff. They also seem to be pretty slow.

Also, if they were to make a port to the PS3 you wouldn't have to worry about transfering anything. It's the same game just like it was on the 360. You just simply log in like 360 players did. Everyone is on the same servers and worlds, remember? The 360 is prettier but it's still the same game.

EDIT: I forgot to add, don't forget they're also working on a semi MMO called Fantasy Earth.. or something like that. Which was also mistaken as a FFXI sequel by so many websites and people.

There is now in the newest expansion. Just that one above.. But before that there were none you could see. They were just mentioned rarely in-game. There's also like, half a sentence that mentions them in the manual. That's it.

I may not play anymore but at least I finally got to see one, even if it was through the model viewer. >_>

I just re-joined after a ~2 year break. I must be losing my mind to get back into this game.

I cannot believe how much FFXI has changed since I last played. I use to mainly play a paladin and I come back to find out they DD now to hold hate post 50. I had to double take when I found that out. I had to turtle it up back in my day.
