Pet demise

Before my current cat I had a small 3 legged cat. It was a stray I had taken in when I found it hungry and sick. Me and my family nursed it back to health and I decided to keep it.

It wasn't always a friendly cat but it was pretty decent to me. He would scratch and hiss at others but never me. I guess it trusted me the most.

I had him for maybe half a year when he got sick. Then one night it became pretty active again. He actually played around with me and chased some string around. Which he had not done since it got sick. I thought it was finally getting better. But it died that night. I went to sleep and awoke in the morning to news that it had passed.

What's worse is I didn't even get to bury it. My father just dumped it in a dumpster. I was pretty young back then so he told me he burried it. But in reality he just threw the body away.

Sometime later I recieved a kitten that was the runt of a litter. Grew up to be my current cat. She's been a really great cat. She's had many kittens too. But being a runt means she's pretty small.. which has led to many complications during birth. Complications that have led to many deaths of kittens. I can only think of one time when she had 4 or more kittens and they all lived. Most of the time they are either born dead, die during birth (being squashed or folded), or die shortly after.

After that track record we got her fixed. She was popping out way too many anyways. I'm just glad she's healthy and as strong as ever. If she ever passed I would be even more devastated than I was when my 3 legged kitty passed.
