Cats for me. I have had many cats and currently own 3.

I agree with the cats are more human like thing. With dogs they just blindly love you. With cats you have to earn their trust. If you piss them off they're going to stay pissed for awile. Ive had dogs before and they're good pets too. But I found cats much better as a friend/pet.

Once you earn a cat's trust and build a relationship with one it becomes a very lovable and friendly companion. Like dogs they will seek you out for attention or caring. I've had my cats for years and every day they will all jump up to me or down on me to rub themsevles up against me or curl up to nap in my lap.

If I leave the house they will actually whine/meow untill I come back and can get pretty upset if left alone too long. Two of them will follow me around the house and try to stay around me when they're lonely every now and then.

The only problem with cats is they're pretty hard to train. If they don't want to do something they are not going to do it. So if they dont want to learn they aren't going to pay attention or absorb it. But it's not impossible. They atleast learn what is okay and not okay. My cats adapted to my voice and body language to communicate with me or understand me. So they know if they have fucked up or if I'm in a good/bad mood. They've learned ways to make me understand what they want too.

The plus side of cats is they're pretty clean animals and take care of themselves. No need to walk them so they can go to the bathroom. No need to wash them alot since they wash themselves constantly.

Oh yeah, fun little tidbit. A cat is capable of 100+ different vocalizations with meowing alone. A dog is only capable of 10 with their barking. So cats can be very talkative animals. That's not counting their purring, body language, clicking, hissing, or growling too.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
Stuff goes here~
