If the TV had a screen that was orders of magnitudes better, yes people would buy it.

The PSOne did much more than just be a smaller Playstation. For example, you could attach a battery and screen to it for a road trip.

The DS Lite is also more than just a size improvement.

Aren't they priced the same as the original?

Am I the only one who likes the DS's clicky buttons?

They feel so... SUBSTANTIVE when you press them.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm not sure what's stopping you from using a cloth and some water/isopropyl alcohol.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Anyone still selling DS lites?

I went to a Circuit City (on other business, unfortunately) and saw only two regular DS's, and no DS lites, although there was an ad for the DS lite at the DS kiosk.

I'm curious as to whether or not I'll be able to get one soon, if everyone went crazy like in Japan and bought them all already >,<

I was speaking idiomatically.

Just picked up a DS Lite, no dead pixels, no problems with it at all.

However, I didn't get a Brain Age demo card with it, did I fuck up?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Seriously, go with the Lite, I could never use a regular DS again.

Also the battery life on this motherfucker is fucking forever. I've been using it on brightness level 2 for about 3 days now without charging it up, and it still says it has a full battery on the boot up screen!

SO I played MP:H off a Gamestop download kiosk... and while the graphics are pretty awesome, the game sounded like I was playing a Gameboy Color. My first instinct though, was to blame this on the fact that it had to stuff 2 levels of MP:H into like 3 kb.

Can anyone confirm if the full game has like actual sound effects, or is it actually supposed to sound terrible?

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Agreed with Acer. My biggest problem when I bought the DS Lite was "which of these fucking games am I going to get."

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The volume control is loose but only in a cosmetic sense, it's still difficult enough to push it in a meaningful way.

I've noticed i have a little bit of trouble pressing upleft diagonally on my DS lite pad, but that is probably from me being used to my X360 controller. The pad itself feels great. I just need to get more used to it.

Honestly though, I thought the screens would be brighter. With all the talk of "death" on the internet I was a bit let down.
In any non-outside setting, the highest setting on my lite makes my eyes hurt.

Double Post:
They should've called it Gangsta Pink. It would've sold well to the PSP demographic.

I'm actually thinking it wasn't a "problem," but rather intentional. It seems to make sense. I haven't accidentally changed the volume once the way it is; it takes the most direct of accidental shoves to move it even a little bit, yet whenever I set my mind and thumb to the objective of moving it, I don't really have any problems. It just kinda sucks that it feels like the thing is loose enough that it'll fall off at any moment, but knowing all you guys have the same thing means it probably won't.

Also, my d-pad is not in any way loose. I just have trouble making it recognize up+left sometimes.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Not to mention, the crazy people who can't wait a minute longer for their colored DS will just import from there anyway. It's win-win for Nintendo.

I look very closely at LCDs for this kind of thing and don't see any ghosting whatsoever.

Even on max brightness.

Even in Kirby's Canvas Curse. Which is probably the brightest game ever made.

I don't think you have to worry too much about ghosting, no.

Wait, are you talking ghosting like in an arcade machine where it has PRESS START TO PLAY permanently burned on the screen?

Or like a blur as things move?

So I'm assuming some of you at least have seen a friend's PSP. I think my friend's PSP came with a carrying case... sort of like a leathery sleeve. He can tuck his PSP in there any time and it'll be nice and sheltered.

I'm looking for one of those for my DS Lite. Do they make them? All I've seen from looking around at Gamestops is crappy zippered cases that are bulky and ooglah.

It doesn't work with any piracy software, the real version comes with a RAM expansion so the DS won't detonate upon insertion.

I've seen a video of the DS browser in use... apparently it's functional, but slow. Hopefully it'll be improved before a stateside release.

I just got my Hori screen protectors for my Lite.

If you own a DS Lite and don't have a cover on those screens, you are doing yourself a disservice every moment of the rest of your life you spend until you get the Hori screen protector pack. It feels fucking AWESOME using my stylus now.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It's amazing. The protector offers more resistance than the bare screen (so the stylus isn't slippety-sliding all over the place) yet somehow makes the screen feel completely impervious. It doesn't even get dirty very easily anymore. Finally they somehow managed to make the screen more sensitive to the stylus.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Of the games you mentioned the only one I played was Trauma Center, and my screen was getting scratched. I'm meticulously gentle with my Lite.

Furthermore, the touch screen gets dirty very easily. I had to spend about 50% of my game time wiping off the screen because it felt like the stylus was scratching the screen, when in fact it was just scratching my fingerprints/whatever was on the screen. Since getting my screen protectors i've had to wipe it off maybe once and that was when palmed the screen after almost dropping it.

The screen is also now more responsive and the stylus has better grip. For less than 10 dollars, I see no reasons NOT to buy a screen protector.

Anyone else feel like with the recent assholery revealed surrounding the Wii, that the DS has gone back to being Nintendo's final hope?

Phoenix is in #3. You just don't play as him in the first case, because it's a flashback to a time when Phoenix was under trial.

You're right though, they've pretty much renamed it the Ace Attorney series, which means they probably intend to bring GS4 over one way or another.
