Heh, since this turned into a MySpace discussion...
I used to be 100% against it as well... and only created a page because "everyone else did". Then... I changed my page colors away from the standard to fit my liking a little more... and staying in contact with some friends from high school that I had no other way of talking to is nice. It's not as bad as people make it out to be; I turn off auto-play music, only keep friends I can stand, and I don't visit their pages if they have all the flashy annoying shit. What's the problem?
I can't really hate it, as it's the sole reason I'm currently in a relationship with an amazing guy. Yes, I was desperate enough to actively browse their users looking for someone, and I did find someone, and we met and hit it off. Maybe I just got lucky though.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
