For starters, your ISP is capping your download and upload speeds. You only have so much bandwidth to utilize. Some ISPs even throttle down torrent traffic through their servers to reduce load. And if you're running Windows XP SP2, you may be a victim of only having 10 open TCP connections at once. Torrent speeds rely on having as many people as possible connected to send you files, so if this number is small... crap speeds. Jam it back in, in the dark. |

A patch(found above) can be applied and will "hack" the file in Windows to allow more concurrent TCP connections to and from your computer. Do not set the number of TCP connections about 90. I've heard it can negatively affect.. stuff. (I can't remember what, though :/) There's nowhere I can't reach. |
