Have you tried booting the computer without any USB devices attached? Can you get into the BIOS at all? (usually by pressing F10 or Delete the Compaq screen) If you your board doesn't boot, try disabling your USB ports in the BIOS.
A last resort would be to test another power supply. My friend's HP computer did the same thing when his PSU up and died suddenly. You may have to buy a 4-port USB PCI card if you can't get your ports to function again. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
