It's because your television probably can't support anything higher than 1024x768.
Are you simply hooking your television into the S-Video plugin on your video card? Or are you using a PCI television card? If you're using a GeForce graphics card, you can setup DualView to allow two monitors to run at two different resolutions. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Firstly, change your monitor to the proper resolution. If it's either a 17" or 19", it should be set to 1280x1024. Go into the nVidia display control panel and the first menu item should let you change your display setup to DualView. You can set both your LCD and TV to different resolutions. I should know, I've got a 5900 and do the exact same thing

Ohhhhhhhh. Where you setup DualView, simply switch it to "Clone."
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I understand now what you want to do, but it isn't possible with the nVidia drivers. Clone is what you want to do, but it's impossible because you are running your LCD(1280x1024) and your TV(1024x768 or less) at two different resolutions.
I have no clue on how to make it work with this setup. The only option I can think of is to set your LCD to 1024 and deal with the bad image quality. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
