I think he's done a few crappy low-budget films, but other than that, nada. At first I was opposed to Hamill playing a live-action Joker (based I didn't think he looked the part), but then I realized that if it was done right, he'd be absolutely perfect. I mean, he still has the stigma of being Luke Skywalker and his "acting" career has pretty much floundered and become a joke. I'm sure he'd give a chilling performance as the live-action Joker (since he knows the character inside and out), and man, talk about a way to revive one's acting career!

However... I still think it's unlikely they'll actually cast him. In a perfect world, they would, but I'm sure they'll end up going with Heath Ledger (bleh) or Paul Bettany or one of those types. *sigh*

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah, I saw Slipstream - he was pretty good in it. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, so I do like Hamill and have seen most of what he's done. My point was that the general public just assumes that he's "disappeared" ever since Star Wars, the constant digs on him when compared to Harrison Ford, etc. and his name has become synonymous with typecasting. Most of his last movies were pretty crappy (like Watchers Reborn, The Guyver, etc) but he has done some good live-action among the wreckage. Heck, I loved him as Cocknocker (even if that was just a spoof LOL). But yeah... People just don't give him enough credit as far his acting ability goes, and he could be absolutely chilling as a live-action Joker. He could totally get the look down (get into shape to get the right build, etc). As I said before, I would love it if it broke his "curse" as being typecast as Luke, thus forcing Hollywood to eat crow.

Lets wait and hear that they finished the script before looking for someone to apply it to. (Also, Ledger has reportedly sworn off doing more hollywood movies in an attempt to save his credit as an actor)
Good point... in that case, I do hope Ledger sticks to his word. LOL. I'm still crossing my fingers, though. I also found a great quote by Kevin Conroy (voice of Batman in TAS), and it leads me to believe even more that Hamill would be great:

Quote:
"Well, I have to say Mark, hands down. He's just such a good actor. To watch him perform . . . I wish more people could see him actually perform, because all of us sit down. It's a long booking. All of us get tired. Mark never sits down. He can't contain himself. He's so into doing the Joker that his veins start to bulge out of his neck. He starts sweating. He has to loosen his shirt. He starts turning red. You see the sweat coming through his shirt . . . I mean, he just becomes the Joker. When he starts laughing hysterically, people - there are visitors in the recording booth, sometimes - invariably, you look in there and see them like this (shocked) watching this guy, because it's shocking to see what happens to his face when he does Joker. He just goes somewhere else, mentally, and he can do it over and over again, for hours. And that's a real talent. I love working with him."

There's nowhere I can't reach.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
