I can't believe anyone has much to complain about on this (non-)issue of FFXIII heading to the 360 in the west. If you have a PS3 and bought it for FFXIII, you're still getting the game, and it's still being made with your console in mind as the lead platform. If you don't have a PS3 and do have a 360, excellent, you now get the chance to buy this game when it arrives.
I've never understood platform fanboyism. I get being a fan of Square Enix, as I am rather partial to the company's games myself (though would stop far short of fanboy in a description), so surely any fans want to see Squenix do well and make money so they can continue making games that you want to play? No, is just me that finds that logical? Also, there's so few details out about this game, it could turn out to be a big stinking pile of shit in the end. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Anyone hoping that the FFXIII demo, planned to be included with the Blu-ray release of Advent Children, would be making it's way west, well, don't bet on it. Squenix has said that they have no plans to do a demo in the west. Oh well.
However, given the region free nature of PS3 games this won't stop you from importing the Blu-ray and demo I guess. Most amazing jew boots |
Sorry to interrupt this rather lengthy back-and-forth taking place, but just to say that anyone still labouring under the misguided idea that FFXIII would get a western release in 2009, seems you're definitely out of luck, even Square Enix are saying so now:
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I'm pretty sure they've said there'll be no random encounters in XIII, so references to X's combats sounds more like it's talking about the mechanics of the fights themselves. Unless I made that up, but I though I read somewhere that you'll be able to see enemies on screen.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
UK/US coverart for the game has been announced:

I really don't mind this boxart. It's nothing amazing, but even the supposedly 'classy' simple art of previous FF games over here (the white background + logo) wasn't ever anything to get overly excited about. Could be better, could be a hell of a lot worse, looks nice enough to me.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
