Maybe its silly, but when my sleep cycle goes out of whack for too long (during winter break I was up until 3am and usually slept until 1 or 2), I skip a night. I literally just don't sleep. I pull an all nighter, and the next night I'm so tired that it fixes everything. This may not work for some people though, and probably isnt good for you. I've only done it a couple times myself.

This is what I generally try to do, though it doesn't always work. Personally I find it hard to make it without napping, and the nap ruins the whole operation...
As far as I'm aware, exercise before bed is considered poor "sleep hygiene". It actually stimulates your nervous system.
Make sure you don't use the bed for anything but sleep and sex. If you're a guy, masturbation/sex will definitely help get you to sleep. =)
