"Decent friend" sounds like a very shallow relationship. But what is there to deal with? Either you give it a try or just tell them "not interested".
Match-making can actually be a nice service - but only if you really know the people you want to match and invest some more effort in it than just pointing the finger to the potential partner. Jam it back in, in the dark.
