He's definitely right. They are just so very different and are both good in their own respective ways.
I'm probably a bigger fan of Mortal Kombat though, as I've been playing them ever since I first saw the first MK hit the arcades. As for Street Fighter, I never really enjoyed them until the first Alpha. It's also interesting that MK's stock has been on a steady rise since Deadly Alliance, while Street Fighter has been on a slow decline for some time now. Though the new XBLA game seems to have renewed interest in many. Jam it back in, in the dark.
