Hahahaha, the Pirates are going to be out of the playoff run in May/June. We both know it.
![]() The Red Sox are an interesting story. Sure they'll probably still be among the top 2 in the AL East, but will they make the playoffs? I'm more curious about the O's and the Jays...will they threaten to crack the top 2 midway through the season? As for Bonds, I really don't care. The major records won't be legitimately broken ever again it seems, so whether he breaks it or not is irrelevant and probably a mtter of time either way. (At least Ruth's number is easily surpassable.) Jam it back in, in the dark. |
P.S.: World Baseball Classic: not a bad idea. Too bad the names are dropping like flies, but there's still a lot of talent in there.
How ya doing, buddy? |

Opening Day at Fenway gets going with a REALLY SHITTY rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" by some child who was a Jimmy Fund patient. They're gonna lose.
(More support for the theory that children should not get involved in major sports events. Super Bowl XXXIX's coin toss was the worst I've seen yet.) How ya doing, buddy? |
Barry Bonds hits number 715 off Byung-Hung "I've gone from goat to hero more times than anyone in the history of baseball and now I'm the guy who gave up a record homerun" Kim.
And Barry's arms, like tree trunks, have grown just a little bit more. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Everyone is discounting the Yankees right now. MISTAKE. I won't believe they're not in the playoffs until the playoffs begin.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Ha, the Pirates. WINNERS.
I was at last night's 1-0 barnburner-of-a-win for the Red Sox over the Royals. Gotta tell you, a one-hitter is not exciting when the pitcher gives up the hit early and doesn't pitch all nine innings. Jon Lester and Jonathan Papelbon are the future of the Red Sox. FELIPE NO |
They can keep him as he is right now, sure. But he'd be playing shortstop and we'd have Magglio Ordonez if all the pieces fell into place. Even then, yeah, I'd still rather have Lester and Manny.
How ya doing, buddy? |
You read it here, first: A-Rod is not going to be traded.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Stupid baseball pundits. O HAY LOOK THE YANKEES ARE BACK AFTER TRADING FOR GUYS.
No. How ya doing, buddy? |
And it's Javy Lopez to the rescue! -_-
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Game 2 of tonight's day-night doubleheader between the Sox and Yankees entered the 9th inning as the longest 9-inning game in MLB history.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Boston got the shit raped out of them. UGH.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Anyone else watching Yankees-Tigers? I haven't been this excited about a game other than the Red Sox in a long time, probably ever. Abreu looked like he didn't know what he was supposed to do in the last K Rogers threw. Cheering for the Tigers, here.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
The Yankees lose!
THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES LOSE! Definitely like the Tigers now. I was on them by default as a Red Sox fan. (This was posted before Posada's 2-run homerun. Heh.) FELIPE NO |
Should close this thread.
