I like the Ducks coming out of the Westicles. The Oilers may have the only playoff tested goalie of any of the remaining starters (whereas the man on the Ducks bench won the Conn Smythe in a losing Stanley Cup Final, for fuck's sake), but they're also loaded with a bunch of guys who haven't been this deep in the playoffs before. The Ducks, however, have been here recently and have a couple guys with their names already on the Cup (Scott Niedermayer, for one). In fact, Scott Niedermayer was on the Devils team that beat J.S. Giguere and the Ducks a few years ago. Irony!
Same story in the East, though the Canes haven't been to the Cup final in a little bit longer and their roster looks a bit different from the one Ron Francis helped into the finals. The same, of course, could be said for the Sabres, who were of course one goal away from winning the Cup with Hasek in 1999. Still, I figure on the Canes to get past the Sabres. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Another thing not in favor of the Oilers is history. As long as the current format has been around, this is the first time the 8th seed has made the conference final. What does that suggest about the chances of an 8 seed making the Cup Final?
Good luck to them, anyway... I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
![]() I was speaking idiomatically. |
LOL getting jiggy wit it am i rite?
So, who's the netminder of the Ducks' future: Giguere or Bryzgalov? What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
FELIPE NO |
Plus, Goldberg was a Flyers fan. That's a subtext of failure waiting to explode.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Of course you know, if Edmonton doesn't win the Cup, it will BURN.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Still going with the Canes.

Oilers in 5 or Canes in 7.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I don't want to say anything bad about former U of New Hampshire standout TyConk, but lest we forget that another UNH standout (Jason Krog) was on another Western Conference finalist (Mighty Ducks) when they bowed to the Devils a few years back.
And don't forget Jerry Azumah didn't exactly help the Bears win any Super Bowls. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
LOL the Eagles lost to the Pats nuff said.
Most amazing jew boots |
LOL "playing with broken stick" is the worst penalty I've ever heard of.

I haven't been paying full attention but it has been a very good game.
A referreeing fuck up kept Edmonton from being up 2-0. Cam Ward was laying on his back after making some save, and the puck was between his legs, and an Oiler picked it up and buried it without issue, but the ref blew his whistle beforehand. FELIPE NO |
Edmonton 4-0. Heading back to Raleigh for Game 7 Monday.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Rod Brind'Amour is an ugly motherfucker.
ANYWAY, grats to the Canes. I totally called it if it went to 7. ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
