How does FFXII compare with the other FF titles? Can it keep up with VI and VII?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Is the story as complex and full of mistery as VI and VII? I hope the score is a WHOLE lot better than those lame ass tracks they chose on the trailer and the X ost. Was Nobuo composing this one as well? All the OST news on fanpages have another composer on it.???

There's nowhere I can't reach.

So the first Finaly Fantasy score he didn't compose. That means it's weaker than the X ost? I already wonderer why it did sound so akward and uninspired. So not Uematsu-Style :-(

How ya doing, buddy?

Lightbulb

I just wrote a "little" First Play Review which you can read HERE.
So far I'm really happy with the game and love the MMORPG aspect (especially since I never played a real one yet) but whats really buggin' me is why the hell is there a fat black stripe on the bottom of the screen in every sequence (the one where you see the subtitles when they are turned on)??? I don't get it?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Are these Werewolves that hard? The first time you meat them is at the Giza Plains and I was playing with the thought to attack one of them (with level 4 characters...) just for the sake of it. Still a good idea?

Yeah what is the Grimoire actually godd for? I mean it's damn expensive...if it's like an actual grimoire-book that means that you should be able ot get some good and strong spells.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Do those lots heal and protect the group by itself or do you have to cast it first?

Which gambit strategies do you think are the best and which are the best techniques? Since they're expensive I don’t wanna waste money on unuseful ones. Oh and how do quickenings work again? It's seems like random luck where I sometimes get an 8 chain (the maximum?) and sometimes only a 5 chain eventhough I hit all the right buttons in time? It's just way to confusing since neither the manual nor strategy guide give a proper explanation on that.
Whats the best place to quicklz level up lvl35 characters? All my active members have an golden armband so LP wont be a proble for me.
I cant seem to find the spoiler button so SPOILER ALERT(mark text to read)

Why does the Empire attack Mt. Bur-Omisace again and why did Lord Larsa disappear? I somehow didn't give any attention to that part. Can't wait until I'm at Darklor Laboratory to finally see what's really behind that "shadow" but right now I need to level up and make some hunting.

thanks!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh and how high should I level myself up so I don't need to worry until the end of the (storybased) game anymore? Between 60 and 70?

So far, I think the story is (what little I've seen) is very interesting (if only real-life politics were half as interesting) and the voice acting is top notch. Now that I've got the hang of it, I'm loving the battle system.

Right now I'm in the Lhusu minds killing skeletons. I'm trying to build up a ton of money so that I won't have to later. I had a chain of about 300 skeletons before I left the mines last time, and had about 30,000 gil in loot. I'm also trying to fill up as much of my license board as possible. I'm going to keep doing this until I simply get bored, but knowing my tendency to power-level, I will probably have everybody's board finished soon. Why? Because I HATE dying. It hate it, it makes me want to just stop playing. So, I'm gonna have tons of cash and tons of abilities and armor available at all times. (Right now, all of my characters have the best swords and armor available at any of the current shops.)

And once I'm strong enough to easily kick some enemy ass, I'll actually be able to sit back and enjoy the game.
You might not wanna to this so early on in the game cause you will simply waste your times (a loooot of time) since later in the game there are accessories which will double your LP and EXP. You will also be able to steal more worthwhile lots. I could steel loot worth over 10'000gil within just minutes an there are items out there for which you have to pay beyond 200'000gil (like on of those grimoires). Leveling up will take to long with those weak enemies anyway.

I'm halfway through the game (on the way to the Draklor Laboratorys) and already at lvl 41. Looks like only the hunts and optional bosses are gona be a challenge for me now.

I was speaking idiomatically.

@Metal Sphere
Where can I get X-Potions and what are they doing? Filling up the whole HP? Which lvl are your characters?

Certain Espers need some complicated conditions before it can trigger the end-attack which I find stupid and unnecessary confusing. Ultima for example uses her finish-move only when she AND the player have both critical HP levels which can be very hard to trigger.

I am currently on my way to the Darklor Laboratorys. I always thought that the potions licence was only for the standart (weak) potion. How much more do they heal? Like 10% with each licence?

I'm almost there as well with my lvl 47 character. Everything storyrelated is a breeze by now but how is the boss Ahriman? I don't think that this will be any challenge for my team but I'm just curious.

@Vash
There are certain accessories with which you can get rare items from the chests. Maybe you should try it with one of these?

With 90h still at lvl60? You must've solved a lot of sidequest but you cant mess with the stronger fights like that.
Where can I acutally buy the bubble belt?

Hehe yeah thanks alot for that trick! I always asked my what Nihaopaloa was good for since it's not quite cheap (like 30'000gil I think). I'm wondering how well it will do with bosses and hunts.
