I find it interesting how everybody's responses except for kat's involved rain somehow. I guess it's no surprise that mine does too.
The past Thursday, I was coming home from a social with my boss and co-workers at my new job. I was driving home that night and the rain was pretty bad. Even worse was the fact that these factors made it really difficult to even see the lane markings on the road at all. I'm sure I drifted around somewhat in my effort to make sure I was in only one lane, in the right one for that matter.
Well, at a certain intersection I approached, I happened to look up from my lane watching, and there somebody was in front of me, stopped to turn left at the light. I put on the brakes, but I kept sliding and rear-ended the guy. I had to get a ride home from the police officer because I didn't have anyone to get a hold of (my cell phone is in for repairs). On top of all that, I got a citation for 'driving too fast for conditions' and for having no proof of insurance. I was flabbergasted at the latter; I did have a proof of insurance card, but it had since expired. It is pretty much resolved now; I am insured, I just didn't have proof of it there. But it was a stresser at the time.
So, I'm indefinitely without a car. The good news, however, is that I wasn't injured and neither was the guy I hit. And he was actually pretty cool about it. We even shook hands when we split up, only regretting that it was in those circumstances that we met. Thank goodness, because this guy could've easily beat the snot out of me if he was really pissed.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
