This was really annoying at the time, but in retrospect I think it's hilarious.
I'm playing WoW healing with my shaman, I'm in non-heroic Auchenai Crypts with a pug (which is a headache enough as it is), and we have a feral druid tanking. Things could be going better but we were doing okay, all things considered. We're getting close to Exarch Maladaar when I happen to glance over at our druid tank who's currently in caster form. I think "Wait a sec, that's not what he was wearing when he first came in......and that doesn't look like tanking gear." Sure enough, on closer inspection he was in healing gear. By this time we were cleared to take out Maladaar. I don't how long he had been doing this, but I knew this fight would not go well like that, so I made everyone else in the group aware of the situation by saying "Dude, put your tank gear back on". So they noticed and started saying the same thing. This went on for like 5 minutes or so and by then I'm pretty pissed that the guy pretty much sat there like we haven't said a word to him. Finally he says "ok every1 ready??" like he's going to go pull, still in healing gear. This is when I start whispering the rest of the group "Back away...." Aaaand naturally the guy gets spanked. Though I can't help but think that the look on his face must've been priceless when he turned around and saw us clear at the other end of the room before he died. I'm still pretty pissed off at this point, so I'm trying to make the guy promise to switch back to his tanking gear before I res him. By this time another party member's whispering saying he has a friend that can come tank. The druid's response? "can I get a res now?" "Wrong answer," says I before removing him from the party and inviting the other party member's friend, and we finish the instance. My shaman's elemental/restoration so with the right gear he could get away with healing most non-heroic 5-mans with the right group. I have a holy priest too, so on that note a lot of my most annoying experiences with people online have been ones where people wrongfully think everything that goes wrong is the healer's fault. Pisses me off to no end. No, I'm not a perfect healer, but I think more often than not there was something else wrong that resulted in one player's death or a wipe. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() ![]() |
