One of the reasons why that boss was fairly difficult was because of the situation of having a high attack rating along with being able to string multiple moves in a short amount of time. I've had a situation where it just took down 2 of my characters in one go, because it did a bite attack, and then immediately after it decided to do a swing around, and then charge while they were stunned.
Though employing the use of the flowers around in the field makes a complete difference. Sure the possibility of having yourself stunned along with the boss, but during that time, the rest of your group can hammer on damage without worry.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
