There's no real set number of times I'll listen to a song before getting fed up. I never really put a single track on repeat, though it happens sometimes. Sometimes I'd put an album or just a few select tracks (from possibly more than one album) on loop. Usually, my playlist (both on computer and PMP) is filled with a huge variety of genres just so I can get to hear everything. I remove tracks that I don't care for while keeping the ones I do like so they can be played again sometime/adding them to another "current favorites" playlist-type-thing.
I don't listen to the radio too much, so I don't really know when a song is "getting overplayed." Hell, I've often overplayed songs way before they get overplayed on the radio. Usually, someone lets me know what's going on.
I'll admit though that I get fed up with some genres quicker than others. I'll get bored/sick of most rap and some vgm pretty quickly. Most electronic music, j-pop, and rock artists I get sick of in "cycles." Oh, and I can not get sick of YUI. Ever. <3
Jam it back in, in the dark.
