For the most part, I try to get stuff new because I like "complete" packages. In game stores, I only get new games. I think the only used game I got in-store ever was Parasite Eve for PSX. Otherwise, it's been all new.
However, I'll get harder-to-find/old titles used, of course, off eBay, such as my steadily growing SNES collection. With that said, a fair share of my consoles were used. My SNES was given to me by my uncle, but he used it for a while. I bought a used GameCube bundle off eBay (the only thing I ever bought used that could've been bought new), and that has yet to fail me. I got a used Dreamcast after helping a friend repair a bunch of the consoles he had lying around. I plan on getting a used N64 bundle eventually (maybe I can find one of thsoe sets that include 50+ games or something ridiculous
). So, yeah: old stuff get bought used. Duh.
