Woot! So nutty pulled through for me and found Kirby: Squeak Squad (so freaking rare). He also got Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for me too since I mentioned it was a game I'd wanna play at some point (though probably not anytime soon). This all comes at a good time now that Final Fantasy III is done. As I already mentioned, the new Phoenix Wright should arrive this week too, so it's all good times for some new DS gaming.
![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
haha! congrats finally chaotic! man, i need to get the wii wario ware at some point, but i'm holding out for a bit...
anyway, not a video game but a video game related purchase: i got 20 ds storage cases for my gba games as i'm gonna start printing out stuff from the cover project for my gba games (and super mario 64 ds). should be fun and make my collection look nicer. it may be photo-worthy afterwards too.... I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Yeah, So I was gonna do that Best Buy DKR + FFVIA + free $10 gift card deal, but that failed since they didn't stock them. I snuck onto one of their computers and they had 24 of each in stock, but they weren't on the floor or in the back (after telling an employee they should've had them out).
I couldn't leave empty-handed, of course, so I finally got Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (for $25 after redeeming some Reward Zone points). I'm loving it as I get my idiot on. I can't wait to play this with some friends and possibly take some pictures/videos of us losing our dignity. I've been playing it for the last hour. <3 Then I swung over to EB Games and got Trace Memory, Touch Detective, and (I couldn't resist) Diddy Kong Racing DS. I played a little of it and it's pretty fun. I haven't touched the other two yet though, but they're games I've been meaning to play as well. So, yeah, it's officially on like Diddy Kong now. I guess I'll make an effort to make this week's session actually happen... Unfortunately, they didn't have any Final Fantasy VI Advance copies available, so I'll have to wait a bit for that. Works for me I guess as it gives me a few more days to finish up some other gaming. I'll try again later this week. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
In game retrieval news, Ar Tonelico came in today. Good stuff. FELIPE NO |
So I had an interesting shopping spree at Best Buy tonight. I had checked that they had Final Fantasy VI Advance in stock, so I had to go get that since I've been humming "Terra" all month. I'll probably get around to playing the game for the fourth time in five years this weekend. =p
Next to FFVIA I saw one box for Wario Ware: Twisted!, a game that's been on my list for a while but figured I'd have to eBay at some point (because I didn't think I'd ever see it in a store). So I got that since I've been on a Wario Ware high lately (completed Smooth Moves last week). =p Of course I was also optimistic about Wii Play being in stock, but it wasn't. However, I saw one copy of Sonic and the Secret Rings left. ONE COPY! And that word "Secret" is full of so much intrigue. Instant impulse buy! Finally, on checkout there were a bunch of bargain games there in a box. Inside, I saw a new Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for $10. I remembered seeing it in the PS2 aisle for $30, so I figured I should jump on this too, and then just back out if it wasn't. The cashier rang it up manually for $10. Awesome. It was a very :nazwin: night. I'd rather not look at the amount I ended up signing for though. It was not $30. ;_; What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Dunno. It just seems that titles I want are never there where and when I want them to be. But for that Wario Ware: Twisted! game, it isn't even listed on the GameStop or Best Buy web site anymore, so seeing it there was unexpected. Most amazing jew boots |
Got that Wii Play, and played it on my Wii. We played Wii Play for a few hours, and playing in on the Wii was pretty fun. I even played with the Wii remote that came with Wii Play. It played with the Wii playfully.
There were quite a few awesome matches this evening. ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. |
It's been almost a month since my last purchases since I wanted to catch up on some games. That didn't really happen, so I didn't get much, but I got:
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect just to complete my TimeSplitters collection. The first two are among my favorite console shooters (the only other one being GoldenEye), so I look forward to playing this at some point. Xenosaga Episode II, an impulse buy just because it was so cheap. I still haven't played Episode I, but again: one day... Wii Classic Controller. I never really wanted one since I haven't been big on the Virtual Console games yet. But, this was the first time ever I actually saw the controller on the rack in any store, and it was the last one left. All those signs... it was just calling to me to buy it. So now I'll probably download some games finally. =/This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I got Cooking Mama: Cook Off sometime last week. It ain't no Hibachi grill and the controller isn't all that delicious, but it's fun to play. It's also entertaining to add in your own sound effects.
![]() How ya doing, buddy? |
I actually hadn't bought a new game for well over a month until this past weekend, which is strange considering how almighty I am. Anyway, I got Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales I've been interested in it, and chocobos are :3. I haven't played it yet though. I also wanted to get Puzzle Quest which was supposed to be in stock, but I didn't see it.
I got my first Wii Points card ever finally. And I got my first VC game too, the classic Galaga. <3 What fun. I sucked it up the first time I played, bot on my second go, I got to level 38. Good stuff. ^^ Finally, I pre-ordered Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2. I love the first one and Elite Beat Agents was fun. I've always enjoyed the gameplay, so I can't wait for more songs. I was speaking idiomatically. |
![]() Hi! Haven't posted in this thread for a while, so I'll update. I haven't got too many new games since I've been out. Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 ended up arriving AFTER I got back from the Philippines. ;_; I have 4 more songs to do, and then I'm done with the game I guess, currently on that AI song on the girl cheer squad difficulty. It's <3 as usual. I did end up getting Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, and it's pretty fun, but it doesn't hold my attention too long. The pace is kinda slow, but it is addictive. I'd usually just do a battle or two and set it aside for a week. =/ Mario Party 8. <3 I've been partying like a rock star for the last 3 weeks. Totally dude. Toadette ftw. Ohhh, I should bring back my Toadette av/sig set from last year. ^^ Super Monkey Ball for GameCube. ^^ It was only $5 new, so I got it. I only got to play it once during high school, but I kinda got it now more just to collect. Maybe I'll listen to the porn music in-game or something sometime. K, that's all. Bye. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Guess I'll update with my July gets:
Planet Puzzle League ~ Gotta love those puzzle games. This seemed fun from gameplay vids and such, but I've gotten bored with it pretty quickly, though I'm still doing daily play just to set personal records. =/ Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree ~ The DS version was mad fun, and I perfected it, so I got this. I was debating between this and Guitar Hero but figured I'd wait on a 360, which I should get by August 14... Anyway, this game is pretty short, but the training pretty fun, and the mini games are a lot more difficult than the DS ones. I'm even struggling a bit on the memory ones. Damn faces. x_x Multiplayer mind sprint thingy is awesome though. =p Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur III ~ Because I'm a fan of both series, but I never played these games. Greatest Hits must-get buys. I'll find time to play these at some point soon. Mario Strikers Charged ~ OMFG. This game rocks. I got this Tuesday, and every game I've played (multi-player anyway), has been epic. Several times already, I've experience game-tying/winning goals in the last 10 seconds, twice with 0 seconds remaining! The competition is intense, both offline and online. Playing online has been ridiculous too. Worst thing to happen though: being a Yoshi team when the opponent is colored green... ![]() Picross DS ~ <3 I'm addicted. K, technically an August buy, but whatever, whatever. Yeah, it's so easy to pick-up-and-play, especially for my long commute to/fro work. I've blasted through the easy mode and am almost done with Normal level 2. Zooming's slowed me down. I played online to see what it was like, and it's picross racing... somehow, it's exhilarating fun. Thanks to RockgamerXIII for reppin' this game. =p FELIPE NO |
So I haven't spurted out video game spluges in a while, so I'll just mention everything since the eve of SMASH WAIT.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates ~ I don't even know what's going on with this game since I didn't read up on it or anything. I didn't like FFCC on GameCube that much, other than a few mildly entertaining multiplayer hours; but I don't know if this one is at all like its GC title. But hey, it's got FF in the title. >_> Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection ~ The plan of attack is to go through these before picking up the MGS4+PS3 bundle later this year. Mana-Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis ~ I have no idea when I'll get around to playing it, but I got the pretty premium box figure in front of my XBL camera in the meantime. Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training ~ At some point, BRAWL will be taken out of my Wii and I'll try this, but people always wanna get SMASH'd. ;_; The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return ~ Again, at some point I'll use my Wii Zapper on this, but the SMASH-ing hasn't ended yet. I've been pretty reluctant to take BRAWL out of my Wii. It's now been in there for over a month. N+ ~ Fun but maddeningly frustrating. :RAWR: Triggerheart Exelica and Ikaruga ~ Shoot'em up <3. And pre-orders: Grand Theft Auto IV (Special Edition) ~ I'm brushin' up on my Russian. I ordered it online, so I'll be getting it a few days after release. Mario Kart Wii ~ Also pre-ordered it online, but I might cancel if some midnight launch festivities come to fruition. How ya doing, buddy? |
I guess I'll do my somewhat-monthly recent game purchases update...
I actually received Grand Theft Auto IV (Special Edition) and Mario Kart Wii. Those two games have combined to own my life for the past few weeks. GTA IV is quite overwhelmingly awesome, and Mario Kart Wii overwhelmingly frustrating; both are mad addictive. After getting blue shell'd/lightning'd during a jump/shell'd/bumped/bullet'd/squashed for the third grand prix in a row, I go off to blow the living shit out of every moving thing in Liberty City. I also got Odin Sphere and Rogue Galaxy for the sole purpose of putting them on my backlog. Yeah, I'll get around to them eventually. Same deal with Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES even though I'm still currently playing Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. I'm only in October. ;_; Octomania was an impulse buy inspired by Summonmaster, who's still too scared to play me in it... or rather I haven't played it much. I got my first WiiWare game in Defend Your Castle. It's pretty damn boring quickly playing by yourself. Get some multiplayer going to spice things up, but then it's boring quickly again. =/ Some Wii accessories as well... I got 3 additional Wii Wheels for 4-player MKW madness. Boxing out and KART-ing is pretty intense. I also tried out the Wii Perfect Shot by Nyko, and it's so much better than the Wii Zapper. I need to get another one for some co-op HOTD. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
And for the record, the only reason you'll be able to blue shell me in Mario Kart is because you'd be way behind me the entire race while I'm in... first. ![]() Most amazing jew boots |
Once again, my somewhat-monthly video game purchases update. Actually, a little less than month since my last one, but that's because this one's huge...
![]() The Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition PlayStation 3 Bundle, thus bringing another member of Team OLDK to Team Triple. It came with a Gun Metal Gray PS3, Gray DualShock 3 wireless controller, and the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Limited Edition video game. The PS3 is the 40GB model, so it does not play PS2 games; but I took that into account when deciding to get it. I'm gonna be keeping my PS2 anyway, and I'd rather play them with 100% compatibility rather than having my games emulated. Plus, maybe I'll finally get around to modding it sometime. I also like how the Sony Playstation 3 can access my [Microsoft] Windows Media Server, but my Microsoft Xbox 360 cannot. =/ Accompanying the PS3, I got Ninja Gaiden Sigma since I never played the Xbox versions. Then I can play Ninja Gaiden II soon. I also got an extra [black] DualShock 3 wireless controller to do 2P, the HDMI Cable and USB 2.0 Cable Pack for the godlike 1080p on my 61" widescreen LED DLP HDTV , and the Blu-Ray Disc Remote Control. Of course, I had to get some Blu-Ray movies as well... doesn't belong here but: I Am Legend, The Pursuit of Happyness, Hancock preview (that's a lot of Will Smith...), and the Planet Earth series, the only true reason to own a PS3. =pIt was a Sony spree for me because I also got the PSP Limited Edition Daxter Entertainment Pack. This came with an Ice Silver PSP, Daxter video game, Family Guy: The Freakin' Sweet Collection, and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo. I also got Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, which I hope to start soon, as well as a bunch of UMD cases and a PSP case for the go. I also got several big name name Xbox 360 titles since I was late to the party and all: BioShock, Assassin's Creed, Gears of War Collector's Edition, and Devil May Cry 4. Now, I'm not caught up with the Devil Mary Cry series; so I had to get, for the PS2, the Devil May Cry: 5th Anniversary Collection, which contained Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition. Whew! Those floods in Iowa... yeah, my bad. Oh, and there are several pre-orders too, but I'll include them next time after I get them. This month's been a lil bit money. ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
